well the laser on ur dvd-rom might be going out or just the disc might be damaged. my copy of gta 4 didnt work on the first day but it did play it as a dvd (i had to get it changed). when did u get ur xbox?
happened to me with my madden nfl 08...only reason im gettin 09 now...it was the disc for me...had 4 cracks like a cross in the middle section...looked really bad...could've been my old 360 that i sent in but idk...i barely played the game...was weird..
this happens to me, and it reads games as dvds and every so often it will tell me to open tray. the on ly thing you can do is attempt to clean the laser yourself, or replace it, other then that, send it in.
you think that's weird. sometimes my 360 tries to read a game disc and instead of playing it or giving my a Unreadable Disc message it goes to a white screen with a message in about 11 diffrent languages telling me that the disc is a Xbox 360 disc and i need to put it into a 360.
so by that logic can i put a 360 game into a ps3 and i'll get the same message screen? same on a a PS2 or regular DVD player? the message must be on the actual disc because if it's somewhere on the 360 that's just stupid.

mine does that too sometimes, but I just eject it and put it back in and it's fine
