I'm dying for a rpg on the 360 and I don't think I can wait that long for blue dragon to come in august. I already have oblivion and right now I'm looking at picking up enchanted arms. Is it really that bad of a game? I want to hear some of your opinions. If it is that bad then I guess I just have to keep waiting:cry:.
Enchanted Arms is more or less a traditional J-RPG, but with a more tactical battle sequence. What I think is refreshing about it is that one of the protagonists is homosexual, which adds some humor (although it can get a bit creepy at times) to the story. Other than that, it's ok -- just don't expect much after coming from Oblivion. I own both, and I play Arms every once in a while. I enjoy it, but I like J-RPGs more than any other RPG (with the exception of a few, such as Oblivion and Daggerfall). As my tastes will differ from yours, I would suggest that you rent it first and see for yourself.
If your a fan of J-RPG's, then this game will probably satisfy you. You probably wont find anything great, or whatnot, but you will probably find a mediocre amoubt of entertainment, and will probably satisfy your RPG need, even if for a little while.
Provided you've got all your Oblivion content, you're going to have to wait for Mass Effect or Blue Dragon... both of which are certain to be great.
If you've got any other systems, Dragon Quest 8 is a great PS2 RPG, Morrowind is a great Xbox RPG (not BC, sadly) and Pirates Of The Carribean is a cool one too (also, sadly, not BC yet). Final Fantasy 3 is out on DS, and the PSP gets an Elder Scrolls game this month. You could also pick up Morrowind for PC for like $10 USD. That's all I got for you.
It is that bad of a game. Wait for Mass Effect. Believe me, I feel your pain. God only knows how much I feel your pain. Freaking famine of rpg games the last year or two.
enchanted arms was good except for the gay guy... it pissed me off so much i had to mute itericroxs
The gay guy isn't a major part of the game. I agree, he was annoying. Enchanted Arms is a decent JRPG. I also recommend Phantasy Star Universe. The single-player has many cutscenes and the characters are pretty cool.
I bought it because I was starved for a JRPG. Marvel was a decent game. The major issue I had was the top-down view. No 3D game should ever have a fixed viewpoint like Gauntlet.
I absolutely loved Enchanted Arms. Just remember to play it with Japanese voices and subtitles instead of the American voices which SUCK SOOOO MUCH. It's an awesome story, takes a good 40-ish hours to beat on average, and you can take your golems online to battle other people. I highly recomend the game, but that's just me.
I got that for Christmas and played the hell out of it. I love that game so much. I might start playing it again when the new characters come out. I really want to play as venom.
When i saw this thread i thought it was gonna be someone else complining about the Boomshots blast radius in Gears, guess i was wrong.
But anyways yeah the 360 needs more RPG's, the few that the Xbox had were great especially Kotor, Jade Empire, and Fable. I dont know about you guys but i cant wait for Fable 2, and iam praying for sequels for Kotor and Jade Empire.
well I would consider waiting for blue dragon and mass effect(which by just looking at them I know there gonna be my most favorite 360 games!!!!). enchanted arms was to repetitive for me and trust me when I say this I am a very patient person. also its like a average japanese RPG. u know( protagonist who is hard headed, a evil threatening to destroy the world, and the protagonist is somewhat related to what causes the evil). kinda reminds me of arc the lad series for the PS2
For PS2 you could go Dragon Quest 8, any of the final fantasys, kingdom hearts, Arc the lad, etc.
If you don't hve a ps2 then Fable for BC or bonus content in Oblivion.
or Morrowind for PC... Or, maybe another rpg for the pc like baldurs gate?

Yeah Morrowind is a good buy $20 for GOY edition and it doesn't hog your PC. If it needs to be on the 360 get Baulder's Gate Dark Alliance 2. If you can find a copy. Â
Yeah it sucks to have to wait for good J-Rpgs to come out. I'm not much of a fan of Oblivion style games, so I'm stuck in waiting for Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata.  Haven't tried Enchanted Arms yet, but I may pick it up when it gets to $25 or less.
One of the main flaws of enchant arms is that the english dialogue was written by a 4 year old and a few of the characters, Al la the main character, are quite obnoxious.
And if stupid people annoy you, then the main character will drive you insane...Â
