I saw a recent poll that people prefer buying Halo: Reach to Black Ops.....

by almost 4 to 1. Are you surprised by this at all? I think society is just burnt out on COD games.

Good point. Those of us that work for a living (at least me at least) have very little disposable income after the mortgage, gas, food, etc. What the wife doesn't spend, I have to spend on what I want and I think I'm going to go with Reach. I like COD, but meh, I've had enough.

The poll wasn't on GS, I found it somewhere else, I just don't remember where. It was a pretty large sample though.

Halo has the larger fan base for xbox users so its not surprising. Black Ops is still going sell very well on 360 and other platforms but Reach will have more longevity then black ops.

At least I try them out, I played all Halo and COD games before why not Reach and Black Ops.

But after all, Halo:Reach is the most anticipated game of 2010. What more to expect?

I'm picking up halo reach and moh and day one myself. Mostly because I like both the franchises a lot and the demo's for em weren't half bad either. AlsoI'm not a huge fan of cod to start with so I don't really plan on picking up black ops myself.

Put it this Way People will be playing Halo Reach 3-4 years From Now and COD will Have a new Game every Year around November To replace the Last im done with COD.

You also have to take into account that its being developed by Treyarch instead of Infinity Ward, plus the fact its become apparent that Activision is evil. I'm sure if either of those factors were changed there would be more hype for the game, but I for one am tired of CoD, and as someone else said, people will be playing Halo: Reach for the next couple of years, but no one will be playing Black Ops when the next CoD comes out.

I think most people are burnt out on CoD, considering we'll have four games in the series released in only three years, as opposed to one real Halo game and a spin-off (ODST, which didn't bring a whole new multplayer experience except for Firefight). I know quite a few people that only really play MW2 on XBL who will pick up Black Ops, and I won't be surprised if it sells more copies, but as far as hype amongst traditional gamers go, it's Reach all the way.

MW2 has two great parts, the single-player, and the special ops missions. The multiplayer is a travesty, however. A poorly-implemented system by a company who was only interested in making more money.

And I admit I'm also an idiot for buying the game. You don't like my opinion, tough.

While I've only bought MW2 limited edition new out ofall theCoD series(and have no regrets), I can't be buying a CoD every year new at retail. Fortunately, the CoD community is a very lively, prolonging one (which few seem to give credit for). Heck, I've been enjoying playing WaW's MP and Nazi Zombies so I'll be set there (it ticks me off how copied the gameplay is though).

EXACTLY. No one complains about dropping 60 bucks a year on Madden, but for some reason buying one Call of Duty game per year becomes a big deal.

To be honest I'm not shocked by this at all. I'm not even that big of a halo fan, but yet Reach has sucked me in. It's looking like I'm going to give CoD a rest this year. Who knows though, there's still time.

well im not even a massive halo fan but Reach has me way, way, way more excited than Black Ops,, so much more excited infact that iv started playing halo 3 again, so im not really surprised by this

im just kinda burnt out on CoD, the last 3 games have been well the same really and Black Ops looks no different, its the same thing that happens with sports games, i got sick of buying the same thing over and over and now only buy them every 2 or 3 years instead, think im gonna start doing the same with CoD and iv not yet decided if im gonna bother with Black Ops or not?

Yay! I myself can't wait for Reach, but I will still play Black Ops as I like Treyarch and wonder if Black ops will be the same as WaW, a fun multiplayer.
