I screwed myself in Fallout 3

I just got to the Megaton village and I wanted to see what happened if I shot a villlager.

Now the whole village is after me and the game saved after I attacked the guy, so I'm screwed. Any way to get out of this situation?

Apparently they don't use the term sandbox lightly anymore :)

You've only lost about an hour...I made a save file as soon as I got out of the vault so I could do a good and evil path. You shold do that next time. I did the same thing as you though, I didn't know if the villager at the entrance was hostile or not so I shot him and they all ganged up on me.

I think I read in the guide or the manual that the city will forget it after you leave for a while. I forgot how long that while is, I'd give it at least a couple days.

Yeah that's really annoying and happened to me like 3 times in different situations :S...I finally figured out (dunno why I didn't think of it before) just to turn off all the autosave features. Just remember to save constantly after you do something :PBloodymassacre
