I just bought an xbox 360 pro yesterday at an FYE. I went to register it online and it said that my warranty had already expired in july of 2007. I talked to microsoft and they said they already showed my serial number as being purchased over a year ago. The box for the system still had a $399.99 sticker on it but I paid 349.99 for it. Microsoft said that they would "correct" my warranty if i fax them a copy of the receipt. FYE said that they would let me return the console. What should I do? Do you think that FYE sold me a refurbished or used xbox for full price without telling me?? There is no HDMI port on the thing which is weird.CubeNerd
Personally, I'd return it as at the very least, something fishy is going on. I'd return it and find somewhere else to buy my next console.
DO NOT BUY FROM FYE!
my first xbox 360 i bought it from there cuz they had a 50 dollar mail in rebate, when i went home i realised that the box had been open already, the hdd was all scratched up, FYE had sold me a used console, i plugged it in and it had the RROD, so i went back didnt even want a replacement, just took my money and left
always buy your consoles and accessories from major retailers like best buy or circuit city. then buy games from whereever. besides, fye are major rip off artists like gamestop.
I would return it and tell Fye that you are reporting them to the better business bureau for selling used things as new. That is fraud. Maybe they will give you a discount or something to keep you from doing it. If you can, take a picture of your screen where it shows the warranty out of date, and also take pictures of your receipt and everything else you think you may need.Dilrodif i were you, i'd do exactly what he said. if they don't give you a discount just report them and go to best buy and get your 360, take it home, and enjoy.
