I think if you go threw the trouble to get an achievement, then it counts.

As far as I am concerned, if you go threw the trouble to get the achievement. Then its legit. So if you and a friend go threw the trouble to kill each other to get achievements, then it should count. Even if you use cheats to get achievements ( even though I wont ) I think it should count. Since, for one its the fault of the developer and two you still went threw the trouble to do it. I agree with Jeff Gerstmann that if its built in the game, then its fine. However, people that use cheat devices and save devices and other external modification stuff to get achievemenst that crossing the line. Because you really arent doing anything to get it, and in the case of the saves your just getting something for others work. Cheats are put in the game for fun,thats what the developers put them in there for. And thats what games are ment for, is fun. So like Jeff Gerstmann said "If thats what you like to do, then whatever gets youto the fun, then it should count" ( or something like that, I think he said. )However, what do you people out there think on this topic?

Getting achievements through "cheating" should never be accepted but as i always say, "Different strokes for different folks". Some of u will agree with me and some will not but thats the way it is. We are all different.

I think that an achievement should be earned through gameplay, not simply unlocked, so if you use cheats, then you shouldn't get it.

I like what they did with Crackdown in the patch. It allowed a cheat mode to be activated that could unlock all areas of the game, give you all weapons, boost stats etc. so even if you weren't any good at the game you could have fun with endgame weapons, but cruciallyit wouldn't allow you to get achievments, or save your progress.
