I think my 360 is on its way out.

It sucks because I barely have any time to play games these days, so I can't really be sure. Yesterday, I was playing bioshock for the first time in 3 weeks. In my four hour gaming session last time, the game froze three times, and at some point, the console started making a very freeky noise. I was thinking that the Disk was being scrached somehow, but when I took the disk out, it was perfectly fine.

I just want to know if anybody's 360 freeze a LOT with Bioshock, and has anybody's 360 started making a scary noise.

Before anyone ask, my 360 is placed horizontal on a flat surface, its my second one, and it was manufacture in november 2005.

If I have to call to get it replaced, I sure am going to make hell to the guy on the other end of the phone.

My 360 has also freeze with R6 Vegas andGears of wartoo the last time I played, so I don't think its necesseraly bioshock.

Please don't. I work in customer service, and getting shat on by someone is not fun. Especially since the person you will be dealing with will have had nothing to do with the 360's failure rates. The people you call have no control over what the console does, all they do is setup replacement plans and the like.

Normally I would have agreed with you, but since working with customers I've changed my view a bit.

the only times my 360 has frozen is when i make it do too many things at once.. like it's in middle of switching screens, from like a loading screen to a play screen and i try to go to the dashboard while it's doing that.. it's understandable.. but really all you gotta do is if it gets worse is send it in to microsoft to get it replaced i guess

Mine really only freezes when I play from the HD - like demos. I played NCAA football for awhile yesterday and it completely froze once and during the game it semi-froze then played again a few times.

Also when I'm on the dashboard it did too

HEY EVERYBODY!! LISTEN UP!!

this thread inspired me to create an account just so I could save the day-

I had the same problem with bioshock. it was freezing every 10 seconds or so for like, 2-5 seconds. what you need to do is hold down LB+RB while the game is loading to clear the cache. should clear it right up as it did for me and countless others.

from the dashboard you can also go to System/Memory, hit Y to go to device options. AT THIS SCREEN, tap x,x,LB,RB,x,x and it will perform maintenance.

bioshock will be awesome again, i'm sure of it.

i would not steer you wrong- lying and inflicting harm on people, animals, and gamers is not my style. You can look it up yourself if you want to. But i'm telling you, it's more than likely going to fix the problem.

With all due respect, I hope you are one of the millionth-of-a-percent in the customer service line that actually provides customer service. Because honestly, most customer service lines are nothing but a cheap veil for a company to hide behind. As it happens, MS's is definitely one of the worst. Some companies (at least good companies) expect their CS staff to actually know something about what they are doing, and the product they are providing service for. MS's CS staff are without a doubt the most brain-dead staff ever assembled to do a job improperly. Half of them can barely string an English sentence together, and the ones that I've talked to didn't know the first thing about an xbox. I tested the last guy, asking him very basic questions about the 360, such as how to remove the hard drive, etc. EVERY QUESTION lead to him saying "i will have the answer for you in just a minute" followed by the clacking of a keyboard. That's pretty lame if you ask me. To the TC, I feel for you, having experienced the RRoD just five months after getting my 360 (still waiting to receive the new one from MS). To any others who may be looking to buy a 360, definitely buy the extended warranty from the store you purchased it at (Futureshop, for instance, has a replacement guarantee, so no waiting time is necessary).
