I towel tricked my 360, its working-ish at the moment, can i still send it back?

So here is the rundown.

Yesterday my 360 conked out and gave me the RROD only a few hours befeore GTA 4, so called microsoft and got the coffin. However, i realized that i need to play this freaking game i mean ive been waiting since i beat the last one. So i towel tricked the xbox and it seems to work for a few hours at a time, but after a while it will start to freeze and ill have to towel it again. I really need to send it back. The coffin came today, and i was wondering if they will fix it even though at the moment all it does is freeze, and does not currently give the RROD. Or do i need to wait until it completely breaks again and then send it in?

Yes you can still send it in! They know that you were getting RROD.

They do not even repair your console and send the same one back to you. They just give you a completely new replacement 360 that has already been repaired a while ago.
