Gamerscore is for nothing more than bragging rights. In the end not even that big a bragging rights considering how easy it is to get a lot of achievements.

I hate achievements. They're retarded bragging rights. Plus they're also not fair because people buy their 360s at different times so you could have already 15,000 and a person who just bought their 360 starts out with 0. I don't even consider it a bragging right.

Too short. Great-ish game and all but I got the full 1000 gamerpoints of the game in one sitting, I love Lost but it just wasn't authentic enough. The main thing I was disappointed about though, Claire looked terrible, she is my favourite character of Lost... sorry I mean she's hot... wouldn't purchase this.
I don't think of it as bragging rights really, but experience points. If I have a question or need an opinion I look for someone that has a fair amount to the game completed. Why not be proud of what you earned though? Even if you just bought a 360 you gotta start somewhere.

When MS first announced achievements there was talk of us being able to download stuff for the points (buy). What happened to that I don't know. Anyways, if they did do it they'd only gives us things like Undertow.
I like achievements because it gives a point to play the game more than once, and it would be cool if you could cash them in but most of the marketplace is from 3rd party companies and so they would never agree to it.
Achievements are what they are. They're just points awarded for accomplishing certain tasks, it's an achievement. I think they should be left the way they are.
they're just a useless and endless cycle of retardation. if your number is low, you get dissed for being a noob, and if it's too high, you get dissed for being a loser that has nothing better to do with their time. plus you can't even do anything with them.
yes i wish you can trade in points for something.like 5000 points get a map or pic or a few points but thats not gona happen.also just becuase the person has a super high g score doesnt mean they have no life,but does have a hater magnet too it.it just means that they have alot of games.the 360 been out for awhile,doesnt mean a person plays non stop.
Lol. But anyway i think that there should be like levels in your profile. The higher the gamerscore the higher the level that would make it interesting but that wont be happening anytime soon. They should give you some unlockables for gamerscore but it'll never happen sadly.

I think scientists do studies that have proven / suggested that achievements are for "addicting" players. hehe
