My 360 has started burning rings around my games and just broke gears of war. It is only just out of the 1 year warranty so microsoft can't replace it. Does anyone know how to get the red ring of death as microsoft have just upped the warranty so i was thinking if i got that they would replace it.

Either that or i have to pay 60 quid for repair plus a tenner for them to fix all my games

any help would be appreciated

You could try making it overheat I guess. That can be done by wrapping it in a towel and letting it run for a couple hours.

I don't see why they only give a 3 year warrenty for the 3 red lights... as if it was the only thing wrong with the 360. My 360 died with one red light, hardware failure. Here this guy's 360 is ruining his expensive games, and he probably takes care of it like the rest of us.

MS isnt giving other refurbs anymore. They used to get your 360, then send you someone elses they already fixed. They dont do that anymore. They get yours, fix yours, and send you the same one back.

Yeah, and that process takes so much longer. They should go back to how they did it before.

i rung up microsoft and they told me that to get the 360 and my games fixed it would cost 70 pounds and thats alot of money for me.

I didn't pay 280 pounds for something that i have to get repaired every 13 months for a further 70 pounds.

poor show microsoft

The towel idea sounds good... i don't wanna set my house alight though :?

well there is a couple things you can do

1. Leave it running for a good 4 hours with the sun beating down on it while having it covered in a towel and blanket leaving it for no room to breathe

2. While its running tilt it over numerous amounts of times until it begins to cry

3. uh hmm welll you could paint 3 red rings on the ring maybe thatll fool them :D

Yeah man, it shouldn't be too hard. That's what happened to me. I'd get the occasional RROD or a freeze once in a while, but then it would stop. I didn't want a finicky console, so I called them up and said it happened all the time. I ended up just returning the thing to CC, but they sent me the coffin anyway.

Just let it over heat simple as that. You can use the same trick that supposely fixes it to break it. the Towel trick, or you can leave it on while laying it on the carpet make sure not fans are on in the room and just let it run. Oh and if you have an intercooler take that off of it too. Didn't you post this on gametrailers.com? Cause someone posted the same thing and i gave the same advice.
