I'm 16 and I was wondering if EB Games and Gamestop are the only stores where they ask about your age.

like, do they ask about your age at Bestbuy or Target, Walmart, etc ?

Your logic is a bit off. Big department stores like Target are more likely not to sell it to a minor, because they have an image to maintain, and a larger obligation to upholding public relations. Legally, they are obligated to ask for proof of age / parental consent. They're less likely to do so at places like GameStop, I've found in my experience.

Goodluck, back when GTA3 came out me and my friend tried to buy it at Gamestop, no go. We waited around for like an hour before my friends dad showed up and bought it for us.

They are strict, very strict.
