I was thinking of buying a 360 since the price of the console has decreased alot, but should I really do it or wait for the release of the next generation consoles?

Its too early to be worrying about a NGC, you're gonna be missing out a lot. Look how long the PS2 has lasted...longest lasting console in terms of still being on the market 11 years later.
Do it , its just 200 bucks , and a lot fun , i 2 year till next gen , and 1 year u can wait there too
The next geneartion of games is ATLEAST 2 or 3 years away (thankgod) i want to be able to play my xbox360 for a long long time, ill get pissed if microsoft announces a new system a year after i bougth this or something.
It'll be a good time to get a Xbox 360.Microsoft is gonna own 2010.It has the best list of games for the new year.Happy New year everyone and safe holidays.God Bless.
Right now is one of the best times to get a 360.
With ODST, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and Left 4 Dead 2, online is at a peak.
If you don't play, many great single player games have dropped in price such as Fallout 3 as low as $29.99.
You won't regret it.
Personally I would go with the 360. This is probably as low as the console's price will get until like the very end of the console gen when it goes all bargain-bin. It's anice video game console with a lot of great games, and afun online service if you choose to pay for it.
Besides, there is no telling what the next gen consoles will be like the way motion-control casual gaming is taking hold.
I've always wanted to try PC gaming.. but just never got to it. I don't want to spend so much money on a nice Desktop and find out I prefer consoles.Build a PC

You'll be spending thousands dollars building it, let alone upgrading it, when that new Crysis game comes around :P When games are released for the 360, developpers have to make sure the game runs well on the 360, as it isn't upgradable. The 360 is a one time, cheaper purchase. An XBOX Arcade is just a regular XBOX without the HDD, It can do ANYTHING regular XBOX can do and it comes with 256 MB which is enough to save 50+ games, you'll be more than fine.I also have a question, I want to buy a Xbox 360 Arcade, can I play all games on that system? Because it has only 256 MB or so

thousands of dollars?
I would definitely get a 360. I bought one the day after Christmas, and it's a really good point in the 360's timeline. There are lots of games coming out, especially in the way of sequels for 2010. A few examples are Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, and Splinter Cell: Conviction.
I would get one if i were you, now that 360 has released the 'N' Network daptor with 2 satellite signals on it as the same price as the original the original one has dropped heavily in price, buying xbl is a drawback but you will get addicted as soon as you enter your first lobby ;)
I recently picked up a 360 and don't regret it. I feel like 360 or PS3 make great consoles for this/next gen. Even if new consoles replace them they still keep their worth with dvd/blue ray functions, storage/back up, and hopefully we will see compatiblity with their newer siblings. As much as I love my wii they failed this "marking period".
