I wish that people would use a MIC while playing in online games!!!
It is that thing that you wear on you head that you can talk to other people and you can hear other people too. Yes I know it is a neat concept isn't it. It is also similar to the thing that most of you people put on your head to listen to music with.

I hate when people play online games and do not use a mic, because I think that these types of games should be played with a mic. I for one always have my on when playing online games.
These online games really should seperate on who plays together, like people that actually use mics should play together in the same games and then all of these other people that do not use a mic should play together.

Does this make any sense to anyone else?

i think more ppl should stop using mics... i.e. 14 yr olds and younger.

The 'headset' was called a MIC before Rock Band or Guitar Hero even came out.

No, it wasn't. Most people just call it a MIC, but it's a XBOX360 HEADSET. A headset not a mic.

I use it when I can.

I just don't think people want to hear my ceiling fan or my 2 year old making noise in the background.

I use mine sometimes but when my ears hurt I wont. It really doesn't matter half of the time anyway because most people think they are Rambo and teamwork is for "newbs."

I don't use the headset because either: A) I hear, racist, offensive comments, B) I hear dumb, profane, crude conversations, or C) if they hear I am a girl, I get crap. So yeah, no headset for me. I don't really find it necessary anyways. I only use it when I'm on with friends.

I would say he had a good impression of what teens sound like nowaday.

I prefer most people to not have a mic. Also, some people might not even own one so that might be why they're not talking.

Sometimes yes. Some more annoying people need to throw their mics away.

I just got tired of the racism and swearing. It doesn't happen all the time but it's gotten to the point where I don't even bother using my mic to completely avoid these people. Fortunately, I've made friends here on Gamespot that play games with me on Live. :D

Well, I am always using my MIC. But everytime I fire up my xbox I join a party with my friends. I very seldomly use the "in-game" chat. The new xbox update kinda messed up the community mic talking.:)

Ounce I get Xbox Live Gold, I'll purchase a mic along with it. I'm 15, but don't worry I'm really mature. (It sounds immature to state that your mature, but w/e)

I quit using my mic outside of private chat/parties way back in Halo 2. The screeching younglings destroyed my slightest desire to speak to anyone in matchmaking, and by the looks of this thread - things have only gotten worse, or at least stayed the same.

I stopped using the mic about two months after I got my 360. All I ever heard were kids complaining when they got killed and kids talking trash when they killed you. (that was in Gears of War btw). I only use my mic if I'm in a party. If not, then I just turn off the other players mic from coming through my tv speakers and enjoy my game. :)

I dont use the mic anymore. Matter of fact I dont even play online anymore. I find the mic annoying 99% of the time. I also mute people so I dont hear them EVER...Im tired of immature kids/teens/adults trash talking, cursing. Im tired of the people yelling in the mic. AND im tired of the "raper wannabes" blasting CRAPrap in the mic at concert volume levels.

All in all....online gaming is now a thing of the past for me. Its a borfest/ glitchfest money taking waste of time now. Im even canceleing my LIVEGOLD in a few days before it renews.

This gen has pretty much been a love hate thing for me....From being on 360 #4 since launch, to the poeple online to the glitching, to the higher priced games,..

I refuse to use a mic now as soon as they hear im female they either boot me/flamed or I get bombarded with friends requests. I only play with people I know now. InsultToInjury_

I think it's pretty sad that you're the second female to say that kind of thing. Do these guys assume that because you're female and play video games that they can talk to you and you'll want to date them? Pretty bad. I've had four good experiences over the past week where almost my whole team was using a mic and we managed to do really well. Two in Gears (Guardian and Horde modes) and two in L4D (Versus and Campaign). I think L4D you should be required to use a mic but I'm kind of fed up with the kids who get on, talk WAY too loud into it and then friend request me because I'm the only person who plays the game with a mic in.CNUrGames

Indeed it is a sad state of affairs. I have had some bad experiences, but I can handle the flame and such but the people who try to befriend you and send a msg saying "hi beautiful" makes my blood boil and clearly get denied. I am here to enjoy a gaming experience and immature guys on heat have ruined it. InsultToInjury_

Back in the day everyone used mics. Now if someone uses mic it's always **** talking.
