To me, Id's RAGE sort of resembles Bethesda's Fallout 3.

Both take place during a post-apocolyptic era
and you fight mutated creatures.

The only difference I've seen is the ability to use vehicles and the possibilty of online multiplayer.

I wouldn't say that. They aren't even the same genre.

They both sound pretty similar which is a good thing.

No it's not. Although funny to hear Fallout 3 being called another Oblivion with guns and now Rage being called another Fallout.

Both are shooters.

But if RAGE is anything like Fallout 3, I'm not getting it.

I was just wondering, just seemed like the samething but thanks for pointing things out xD

And why wouldn't you get RAGE if it was like Fallout 3? Fallout was a pretty damn good game.

Just make sure the combat is fun because I thought it was dull in Fallout 3 if you run out of action points.

Fallout 3 is hardly a RPG, it has a basic stat and leveling system, that's it.

Coming from ID, i expect something amazing. Racing + FPS seems like a good mix when done correctly.

To be an RPG, it doesn't have to have all the complex ins and outs of Dungeons & Dragons.

I haven't noticed the standards for an RPG have dropped so low.

So what? If it's not as complex as Dungeons & Dragons, it isn't an RPG? That cuts out almost every game in the RPG genre.

RPG is a very broad term. Not much point in trying to define it exactly, since everyone will have a different opinion on it.

A game that's built around astrong stats/class system, where the gameplay strongly depends on the player's stats decisions. A strong freedom to do thing's the player's way. Obvious part: A game whereyou take the role of a fictional character and you are free to change him/her based off decisions in the game.

Fallout 3's RPG elements are too weak for me to consider it's general catagory as a RPG. The shooter elements are stronger, even.

True, but you can't deny a genre. If a game is an RPG, it's an RPG. You can't change that. It's like saying the Portal isn't a puzzle game.

Fallout 3 has moderatly heavy stat decisions. You do take the role of a fictional character and you do change them based on you're decisions.
