If I buy the combustable map pack?

Will I ever really get to play them in public matches? I ask this because I have the flashback map pack and very rarely do I ever play a match on any of them in a public match.

Also do you guys know if it will be free in a few months like they did in the first Gears?

Well, there is a playlist dedicated to the Combustible maps, but if you mean being able to play them outside that playlist, if it's even possible the odds are slim. If it's like Halo 3, everyone participating in the match would have to have the maps. And considering they cost money, chances are there will be some people in every match up who don't have the maps.

As for the possibility of them becoming free I'm sure it'll happen, but looking at the Legendary map pack for Halo 3 I'm certain Microsoft will first slowly chip away at the price before making them free.

In other words if you hoping to get them free in the matter of a few weeks or even a few months I'd advice you not to get your hopes up.

OK, thanks I think I will buy them soon. But in the first gears I waited for that map pack to become free, somehow I knew the exact date it was gonna happend and MS did't lower the price at all, it went from 800ms points to zero. LOL, I would have been mad if I bought it right before that

Actually, the only reason the flashback maps are included as choices in when playing Elimination, Players Choice or Terrirotories is because Flashback was free when buying GOW2.

If you download and pay the extra 800 MS points for theCombustible pack, they will not be included as choices when playing the three types listed above.

However, you can select the combustible map pack maps in their own section where you select game type. There are 3 new maps total and when it comes to the map selecting portion, everyone can vote for which of the 3 they want. As far as what games you choose from, it is set up like players choice.
