well i never played cod 4 but i had a choice once when i bought my xbox 360 with either cod 4 or halo 3, the worker told me he likes cod 4 better than halo 3 but i thought that was an opinion. i later told him most my friends play halo 3. so also my friends say that they hate cod 4 now because they played it way too much and like cod waw. like everyday i see them playing cod waw so should i get this game or cod 4.

i think the only ww2 game i played was medal of honor and i didnt really care much bout the weapons.

Well, I've only played less than an hour of COD4 at one of those internet cafes with some friends, never played World at War, however, if your friends are playing WaW, maybe you should get it as well. It'll probably be a lot more fun with friends, while in CoD4 if your friends really are sick of CoD4 I doubt they'd play anymore.

Perhaps a rental would be a good idea?

It depends. If you like fast-paced FPS's, like the above poster mentioned, then yes I suppose. However, I wasn't really a fan of the game, the campaign mode is lackluster at best, although the multiplayer is very fun.

In short, yes, probably, you don't have to CoD4 to enjoy World at War.

I personally like CoD4 better but thats my opinion. CoD5 has less 11 year olds, which is an up, but tanks ruin it and it has bad maps (my opinion) and respawns (fact). The weapons in CoD4 are better (and cheaper) and easier to get.
