IF Master Chief was played by an actor.....

What if in the Halo movie MS decides to have the actor who playes Master Chief remove his helmet, allowing the first glimpse of his face, what actor would you think it would be.

Personally I think it would be Thomas Jane. The looks the part for me, and could even sound a bit like him.

Well, we are never going to see the Master Chief's face, only hear his voice. Therefore, it doesn't matter what the actor looks like, it only matters that he sounds like the Master Chief. And the guy that sounds the most like the Master Chief is the guy that has played him in all three Halo games, Steve Downes.

Therefore, I vote for Steve Downes.

When I saw the thread title, that was the first name to spring to mind to be honest, he was great in 'The Punisher,' and the criminally underlooked and underachieving 'GUN' as well. The voice for certain would be right, and I think he looks the part too.

I don't think Master Chief's face should be decided by what an actor looks like.

If they actually were to reveal his face, they should come up with their OWN design for what he looks like, in the game.

It would be totally cheesy if they made a Halo movie, and let's say Ben Affleck plays Master Chief, and they reveal his face. Then when Halo 4 rolls around, they'd have to make Chief look like Ben Affleck because apparently that's what he looks like.

Then the fact that Chief in the game looks like Ben Affleck, it would make the game feel like a crappy movie video game.

If they were to make a Halo movie before Halo 4 (if there ever will be one), I would hope that they would just have some huge guy running around in the Spartan suit, have the voice actor from the game do the voice in the movie, and I would hope that they would NOT reveal his face.

Proved himself how? That he can play a character that doesn't reveal his face? Don't you think it would be best to have a 7'0" guy in the suit (because MC is quite big) and have the original voice actor do his voice? Makes the most sense to me if they didn't reveal his face.
