yeah it is fun getting gamerscore. A tip of advice to a new owner tho, keep your box in a well ventilated place to avoid the Red Ring of Death. Other than that its a great system.

yeah make sure you do, also having your 360 lying horizontal is generaly better for its health than upright, trust me, two mates and my dad have had red ring and disk scratching problems with up right possitioning. sorry for the rambling :P
yeah i'm loving the system, the only thing I don't like is paying for online play, which imo should be free. But the new boxes for the elite and arcade, when the pro is dropped, show "XBox Live Gold" as "free" on the box in the susual table of differences, so maybe MS are finally gonna fix that up!

I have a stand that prevents console from tilting & I've never had a single disc scratched.

Well you just have to look around & find a deal,$50 a year is crazy. I bought my 360 in 2006 & have not paid more than $30 for a 12 month subscription.

Standing the console vertically blocks the biggest vent in the system which would be at the bottom if it's vertical. I'm not an expert on the subject, so who knows.
