just to let yall know that yes i known that GTA4 in coming to the 360...

these games are the best of there genre.... so i just want to know what will the gamespot community will like to pick as an xbox 360 exclusive.

gta is a revolutionary game. there was no game like it before, and many games have taken its "free world" style and used it to its advantage. metal gear solid (along with final fantasy vii and god of war) is my favourite game ive played, but gta has has MUCH more of an influence in the games that are released today.hschaf

I would argue that body harvest (which was made by the GTA guys) actually did have a free world style. Also don't forget about mario 64. While there were certainly levels, the game could be played in a free world way.

MGS4 all the way. Its the game thats gonna make me buy a ps3.Jaforbe

GTA 4 no doubt...

I havent even played the last 2 metal gears and don't care that a new one is coming. I'm sure it'll be a good game and all but it doesn't have the lasting power of the GTA type games where you can just pick up and play and do whatever whenever.

GTA 4 even though MGS4 is going to be great too, im going with GTA4 :)

Also, Saints Row is a big pile of steaming crap compared to GTA :P

It's hard to compare those two--but if I had to choose I'd probably say MGS4. In my opinion GTA is slightly overrated, I mean you can only do so much before it becomes boring, hell maybe they will change that this time so until I see some proof I'm sticking with MGS4. Personally I find the MGS series alot better, replay value wise.

Also! Saints Row may not compare to GTA...but one thing it is not, I repeat not, is crap.

They'd be a pack of idiots, because Metal Gear Solid 4 is a plastic gold rush waiting to happen, and to offer a choice between a Sandbox game about crime, driving and humour that we've played before at least 5 times already, assuming you don't count Saints Row as being similar, and a Landmark and extremely epic finish to arguably the most successful Japanese videogame series in the West of all time with cutting edge graphics, tweaked interface and playability and the obligatory bombastic and epic storyline is like offering you wether you want a Commodore 64, or a SNES.....like offering you a Burger King, or a Steak.....like offering you a bottle of Buckfast, or some vintage wine.....there's no way comparisons can be had people, GTA 4 is not going to be Game of the Year material- Metal Gear Solid 4 on the other hand most certainly is.

I don't need to have played these games to know my choice either, I hated San Andreas even though it was technically sound and allowed much choice both because of the setting and the idiocy of the characters (Although James Woods character was awesome, Tenpenny was great and OG LOG was fricking hilarious.) annoyed me. It's a nice game to have a bash on, but you're talking to someone here who played Metal Gear Solid TO DEATH, I played MGS2 until I got a record speedrun time in it- I spent so much time and energy on those games they've become my favourite series behind Final Fantasy (MGS 4 will push it above FF thanks mostly to the farce that was FF12.)

I can't see any game wanting to go up against MGS4, and why would they?
