If you buy a new 360 is it less likely to get the rings of death?

so if i buy a new 360 is it less likely for the error thing to happen

just to share a story with you guys. I was a gamestop and these guys were playing the 360 and suddenly the thing is like error error and the rings started to blink red. It was pretty cause the guys freaked out and thought the broke it and just ran out the store.

If it does happen just send it back to microsoft and in a few weeks (or months) you will have a system that works. Notice how I didn't say a new system I said a system that works.

During this time you should play the Wii. Thats pretty much how it goes. Play 360 until broken, play Wii while its away.

The new Falcon 360s (all Xbox 360s manufactured after Holiday of 2007) use up less power and generate a lot less heat than previous Xbox 360s. They're a lot less likely to get the RROD.

Microsoft offers a 1-year regular warranty and a 3-year warranty specifically for the RROD. They send you a box. It arrives the next day. You send it to them. Two weeks later, you either have your old Xbox 360 back or someone else's fixed Xbox 360.

The Falcon (which is the motherboard currently used for the Xbox 360 pro) generates less heat then it's predecessor, the Opus. However, I'd tell you to wait about a month if you wanted to get a Pro because by then they should have released the Jasper which is far superior to the Falcon. Also the 20 GB hard drive is obsolete so they will probably include the Jasper with the 60 GB Pro. However, if you can't wait until then I would buy the Elite which also has a superior motherboard in contrast to the Falcon and is less likely to give problems.

I had a 360 from launch. And I just recently got the RROD on it. Sadly. But I sent it to microsoft, and they gave me one back, which had problems, and then I sent that back with a letter stating what was wrong, and they sent me back a brand new one. I was suprised.
