If you could change FO New Vegas in any way, what would you change?

Been playing new Vegas a lot lately, and I've got to say it is quite good. I'd say it's better than FO 3 anyway. If I could change anything though, it would be a tie between three things. 1, I'd like to be able to join groups, not just gain a reputation with them (ie. Join the NCR as a trooper, do missions with a squad and as you get higher rep join rangers, maybe end up as vet. Ranger), and 2, I'd like there to be some option where you say to an NCR/Legion (whoever you're siding with) that you have a protectron army, and you can activate it if they ok it (in other words, a branch of the wild card quests that let's you take over Vegas, but use it to help a faction). Those are my ideas, now it's your turn! (I swear anyone says "framerate" or "glitches"... You'll be sorry)

Loading times take way to long. Need an icon on the map for your current companion in case you lose track of him/her. Update creatures from being stuck in rocks/ground. Allow speed of character to be quicker not matter what weight. Oh and stop the game from freezing and fix the framerate lol.

Just wishful thinking ;)

Add more features from Fallout 1 and 2. Such as, the ability to inject random people with stimpacks, drugs, etc. Eye and groin shots in VATS. Unlock perks based on things you do that can change your reputation and dialogue options such as the Slaver or Child Killer perks. The ability to have more companions based on your charisma. Perks like Jinx where everyone is dropping guns or having weapons explode on them due to you spreading your bad luck around for critical failures.

One of the many features that Fallout 3 removed from the series.

That's something that I've missed since the transition to 3D.

The the XP level shouldn't be capped at 30. On my first play thru, I got to level 30 in Act 2 and still had a bunch of perks left un-gained. The 'level-up' and the number of perks should be on par with each other.

I also think there should have been more options by buy your own, un-aligned to anyone houses - esp in the Mojave.

1. Vehicles. Being able to fast travel is pretty cool, but you really can't explore the Capital Wasteland or Mojave that way. 2. Co-op. I understand that the developers put a lot on a single game disc, so adding a co-op feature is just too much. But I wouldn't complain if they cut back on some game content to add co-op. Let's face it, some of those quest are just stupid and can be cut from the game. Picture going through the wasteland with friends, Epic. 3. Multiplayer Gambling. Imagine hitting the game tables in Vegas and taking other players hard earned caps. Four player blackjack tables, high stake poker games. It would be nice if they could bring that option in a future game add-on.

Considering it's the only game of the 90+ that I own that I can't play for more than 10 minutes tops without it locking up my system and forcing a hard restart... I'd fix it so it didn't crash so damn much. I wish I could get to those game breaking bugs everyone talks about.

Before I get the comments, I realize not everyone has this issue. Myself and couple friends do though and it's very real.

I agree. You can max out your level before even really getting to the meat of the story in The Strip. They could have also alleviated this with less sidequests (especially the grating fetch ones).

If they fixed the disappearing gun and the raising of the arms thing, I would actually be still playing it.

If they ever patch that (or already did) I would be very surprised. I haven't tried the game in a couple of weeks.

Use a different engine, or at least not manage to release a game with 4 times as many bugs, glitches and potential game and quest breaking problems as F3. I am left believing that it was their priority to release the game on schedule, despite the fact that it clearly had not received enough beta testing and troubleshooting. All you need to do is go to the Fallout Wiki and search under any FNV quests, scroll to the bottom, and read the myriad bugs and problems players have experienced. To me, it's borderline insulting that I paid full price for a game that had so many problems that I had to reply vast sections of the game twice to get around game breaking problems, despite saving liberally all the way. It is, by far, the buggiest game I have ever played. I am happy for those that didn't have these problems, but of the 4 friends I know who were playing it from launch as I was, all four had their own problems that forced them to look online for workarounds repeatedly. The only way I know to put my money where my mouth is I've decided I don't care what DLC they release, I won't be buying anything Fallout until they give the game a serious overhaul with a new engine, or give it to a developer who takes more pride in their work (on the tech side).

That's what Obsidian always does/has to do.

The the XP level shouldn't be capped at 30.

Level and skill caps also not existent in Fallout 1 and 2.

Has to do? No one HAS to release a defective product. They chose to. Big difference.

No actually when you are working for someone, say Lucasarts, and they tell you to release your game at the date they say then they do have to do it

I also found it insulting that it was on sale for $40 for the entire weekend of Black Friday, guaranteed in stock, at Gamestop.

Pissed me off something fierce, considering I haven't even touched the game for weeks.
