Okay, anyone that owns a 360 is pretty excited for Project Natal, at least I know I am, and anyone who doesn't have a 360 is probably thinking about getting one. A lot of amazing products will take advantage of all that Project Natal has to offer and I can't wait to see what they come out with, but if you had the ability to make a game, or any type of item for Project Natal what would you make?

I would make a track and field game as an intelligence tester. It'd be fun seeing how many people run into their tv.

I'd love to see adventure games done using Natal. Interactions with AI would seems like a great fit to the genre. Imagine a murder mystery type game or even a survival horror game in the first person perspective. Things like crime scene investigation and witness/suspect interrogations would be awesome if done right.

And that's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are tons of other ideas floating around out there.

I would love to see a turn based RPG use it. having different motions for different actions, in combination with voice commands to differentiate between spells. It could use the facial recognition to allow multiplayer. you could dodge enemy attacks or counter with different gestures.

I would love to be able to interact with every npc in the game similar to what we saw with the Milo demo.

A social networking thing. So you can meet with other people avatars and talk. Kinda like a bar, with like pool tables and black jack.

A maybe... 2 hour roleplaying game. It would have to be short, because it would take years if not.

This same technology in maybe... 5 years. A 20+ hour Roleplaying game, perhaps a game like Oblvion, were you actually get to talk as your character and such.

I'd make a skating game (either skateboard or inline) that is REALISTIC like the one in the Natal preview.

As I do both in real life, it would be very fun :D

i think it would be nice to see the facial recognition be used to create in game characters... i remember they tried doing something like that in the past with the eye toy- but that wasn't too good- hopefully the progression of technology will make face mapping available for users

If I was a dev I'd probably make a boxing game. It's the first that comes to mind if you consider it would actually work and be entertaining. I personally don't care about boxing at all.

I like the boxing idea but it would have to be 1:1, no lag. And I like the idea of making a lounge where our avatars can hang out, and play pool, bowl, ski ball, basketball shootout, whack a mole, ring toss, and other carnival games.

Ummmmm .hack//sign is a anime show about an MMORPG called "The World" where players (I think) were totally in the game and "outside" this world. Like I said we aren't quite there, but another decade... who knows.

I would get me one of those vuzix headgears and make me an ahooter where the animations are contrled using the natal. Prolly gonna need a second motion tracker for 360 covarage but considering how much progress they've made it wont be long before this is possible, then I would have almost a real virtual reality.

It's hard choosing any of the many ideas but rpgs where you actually are there and interact. Space mmos where you shake hand with aliens and ofc it wont be long till the porn games start ariving.

i would make a game where you have sex... not because i want another perverted game but just because it would crack me up to watch people doing the motions to something on screen. Maybe you could be custard? Bang 'em some indians YEEHAWW.

just kidding i would like to see sports games, that would be cool, or a jedi game. All the redunant things you already heard everyone talk about.

But i have 4 words that put to rest any other idea. Metal Gear Solid Rising. Just think about controlling Raiden like that.

I know ppl want to see this game stray as far away from wii type games as possible- but I'd like to see a workout trainer program- the game would come with light weights and whatever else is needed to exercise in the game... and we all know Microsoft likes to make money- so they can sell heavier and lighter weights in the stores, and they would have some kind of symbol or code that Natal would recognize, changing the workout for the various weights... I also would like to see this game used for more non-video game type stuff... like interactive Dora the Explorer for kids, interactive online meetings, etc. etc... I'm really looking forward to what these ppl come up with

I'd love a Myst type game. Where you could actually reach in and grab objects and pick them up. I think Myst would actually be perfect for Natal because of it's original point and click / drag and drop nature.

And ofcourse an Oblivion style RPG would be great.

What would be the coolest would be a FPS where you hold your hand like you're carrying a gun. move your finger like you're pulling the trigger to fire. Melee would be you kicking (ofcourse not high). Reload would be you acting as if you're putting a new clip in the gun. I think I even have movement worked out as well. Have a standard position that you start the game in, take a step forward and your character starts moving forward. Strife right to move right. Strife left to move left. Back up by taking a step back. To move your camera you move your "gun" as if you're turning and the camera follows the gun. Grenades would be you acting like you're pulling the pin out and throwing it.

Honestly though I think project natal would be best suited for hybrid games. For example you have a FPS that actuallys comes with a gun that you hold in your hand. The gun also has a stick that controls only the camera. Project Natal still controls all the other actions. Grenades / strifing / movement / melee / reloading. I think that's the biggest problem with people who see it can't rap their head around. They think if you put a gun in your hand that Project Natal = Wiimote. This however is completely false. Project Natal can map your entire movements in 3d space.

Current RPG's would work fine for Project Natal. They normally give you a top down or high angled view anyway. I could see current RPG's working simply the same way as the DS controlled Link. Move your hand to show which direction the character should move. Once combat starts you can use voice commands to tell them what to do / hand commands like scrolling through the actions and selecting one / or full body commands to attack or cast spells. Need a potion? Act like you're drinking one. Need to be healed? Hollar out "Heal Me, (insert character's name)!" Boss fights could be really could because they could require you actually "reach" into the environment to give your party the upperhand. Let's say you're fighting a boss and there are powerlines above you. You could actually move your hand forward, reach into the screen and pull the powerlines down hitting the boss and doing massive damage. Oh and who could forget. . .Want to open a treasure chest? Kick it open with your foot.

Heck, even games that require cover could be done. Want to stick to a wall or behind some crates? Turn your body sideways (granted not perfect for viewing angle but still very possible).

And I just came up with these ideas sitting here over the past few minutes typing this up. And I honestly think most of them are quiet possible. They won't require small precise movements so I think they'd be pretty accurate in registering your commands. And especially when merged in a hybrid type system.

I think Microsoft needs to release some sort of new basic controller for in game movement. I just can't imagine having to walk or run in order to make my avatar move maybe I'm just lazy but it would limit natal and not allow for ideal play conditions for RPG's, FPS's, action games, basically any game you have to travel large distances in. I think microsoft should consider a one handed control stick or even touch screen thumb control with a couple of buttons, extremely simple for anyone (casual players) to pickup and play but it would allow for more versatility for us hardcore gamers. I guess it would be possible to use the current controller for movement though, all you would need is to grasp it with your left hand and use the left stick for movement, It wouldn't feel completely balanced but I was just fooling around with it now and it would work. Anyway, if we could get past the movement, I would love to create a AAA fantasy setting action/rpg where you play a magic user and carry a melee weapon like an axe or sword. All of the sword movements would be done in realtime 1:1 and spells could be called out verbally to select and then aimed and casted with your hands. A game like this would just cry out for total destruction so I would want the geo mod 2.0 system from the recently released Red Faction game so I could completely destroy everything in sight.lol Imagine characters recognizing you automatically when you run into them again, having voice conversations replace the conversation tree's in current games, picking locks and chests through motion, man it really could immerse you into games like never before.

Peter Moore announced that they are working to bring their fitness game to the 360 for natal. And you wouldn't really need to buy specific weights from microsoft since you could scan in dumbells that you already have. With fitness games being the fastest growing genre in gaming you can bet that there will be several to choose from for Natal.

Some pretty cool ideas there Mythrol. I love the Myst idea. Puzzles would be amazing with Natal. Your fps ideas got me thinking, you could actually scan in any toy gun as long as Natal could still read your finger movements (which they say it can). Same goes with racing games, they had burnout behind closed doors and it was controlled completely with Natal. You just pretended to hold a wheel to steer, and pushed your right foot forward to speed up. For those of us who would prefer to have somethin in our hands, in theory there's no reason why you couldn't even scan in the Wii wheel to use.lol The ideas are limitless, I just wish we didn't have to wait till next year to get our hands on it, no punn intended.lol On a side note for those of you who didn't hear, Jimmy Falon is a huge video game fan and was so impressed with Natal that he invited Microsoft to demo it on his late night show, it will be on this coming Wednesday.

I plan on having kids, and I would like to see some interactive Dora the explorer or something similar to that... I've watched Dora the Explorer with my little sister in the past and they ask the audience questions, then pause, and say good- After a while my little sister realized she could say anything and would just say random stuff and laugh- if this thing can really recognize what you're saying and you're movements, then kids can point to where Dora or whoever wants you to point and say whatever Dora or whoever wants you to say...

Also- I think project natal can add to some of the traditional type games... like maybe you're playing the new Splinter Cell with a controller, and then there's a part where you have to pick a lock or break into a safe, u can do the same old rotate the stick routine, or maybe you can get off the couch and do some silly hand movement... it would be a nice change of pace- and maybe make games more fun and less of a chore

xbx4ever thanks for mentioning the scanning. I completely forgot about that feature. What if some mystery games required you to help out the character by "scanning in" household items that you have laying around to help him progress his story. For instances, you're stuck in some old mansion and you know your back up is coming but you've got to get out of there now. So the character in game asks you "Hey, do you have a piece of paper so I can leave a message for them?" You say "Sure." and grab some paper, scan it using the camera and he then takes it and leaves his message. Or, he says "I really need a phone to make a call." And you "hand" him your phone using the camera. The scanner really does make a lot of things possible and yeah, I don't see why you couldn't scan in one of those Wii wheels or a tennis racket or really anything to use in game.

I would make a never-ening bar brawl game set in the Wild West.

Starts off with you and some guys playing cards, and you knock all the cards away and blow over the table. You bring your gun-hand from your waist and start shooting the place up. If guys get close you can also just do good ol' fashioned fist fighting. Moving forward in the game would consist of finding things to hide behind and crouching behind them until you kill a certain amount of enemies. Then when a continue button flashes, you wave through it and move to the next small wall. Of course you can move away from the wall if you wish, but you can't actually advance until you kill a certain number of people. Boss fight would be a cross between the sheriff in town and Robocop. Bonus level would probably be a zombie rail shooter.

i think that a sort of CSI game would be pretty sweet where you have to look for clues that are in the level and you walk around looking for them. You would need to get out your fingerprint kit and dust for fingerprints, and be there when the body is examined and look at it closely.

Alsoi think that a paintballing game would be pretty cool but i dont know how it would work.
