Okay, So if you could replay one game again, Experience it as new, What game would it be.
Mine would be either Lucifer's Call or Final Fantasy X.
What about you?

While greats like Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, Street Fighter 2 and Final Fantasy VII vie for my attention on this one, it has to be Fallout. Ohhh man those were the days, before the evil Bethesda swooped down and snatched it.
I hear alot about Fallout, I never played it and i guess it's a little late now! I'm very much looking forward to the new one though. Looks very good. Are the fans not happy about bethseda developing the new one then?declasse
You should be fine, it's you they are aiming the game at. Those who have heard about it but never played it. Whereas longtime fans can go **** themselves according to Bethesda. At one point Pete Hines even called Fallout fans 'rabid' and 'lunatics'
They'll do the same thing they did to their own Elder Scrolls series, it will become devoid of life and focused on petty exploration of barren areas and a dull unimaginitive plotline. Not to mention how they continually screw over the fans every chance they get, humor was a huge part of the originals, and Bethesda openly admitted they do not like, or want humor in their games. As well as receiving an offer for the original creators of the series to work with them, which they flat out refused. A bit much for a bunch of people who claim to be huge Fallout fans, especially when according to some of the developers personal blogs, they'd never even heard of the game.
Anyway, it's never too late to play the originals, you can pick up the collection (Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics) for a budget price.
fallout is my favorite series.
it had the best character creator and you could choose special powers known as perks
it actually used intelligence the way all games should: if you have 1 intelligence, when you talk to someone you will grunt and speak nonsence and drool
if your strength was enormous when you punched someone you would either 1. knock a limb off, 2. split the person in half 3. knock a limb off and knock them across the screen until they hit an obstacle on the map.
you would get a title that carried with you for your deeds. if you killed a child, you were a child murderer.
you could kill everyone in the game.
really good story
you could use drugs, drink alcohol, use prostitutes.
you could get crippled. (i had a character that got crippled in a fight and lost movement rates) also he got his eye knocked out and it gave a sort of fog of war effect (kinda like the old RTS strategy games)
and yes fallout had alot of dark humor in it. and alot of tongue in cheek references to movies, books and tv shows:
i went down an outhouse (yes you could climb down a toilet hole) and found a cave that lead to a wishing well. had all kinds of bottle caps laying around (the currency in fallout) my character then began acting out the scene in goonies where corey feldman says: this was my wish, and it never came true, so im taking it back, im taking them all back.
i found a star trek communicator (not actually communicator but the thing they always take on away missions and tells them everything about everything) on a dead NPC dressed in the next generation outfit beside his crashed shuttle (that looked exactly like the shuttles they used) and it upgraded my menus in game
i found another item on a squashed NPC in godzillas footprint.
many many others.
It's pretty much a role call of my all time favourite games:
Fallout, Deus Ex, Thief 2, Morrowind
In fact within the last year I have fully replayed Fallout & Thief 2, and restarted a character in Morrowind. I have plenty of more recent games, as well as a stack of stuff still to start, but its always nice to replay games that you really love and enjoy.
As for Fallout 3 - I really don't know. I fall into two categories which both make me worry about Fallout 3. I am a long time fan of the Fallout series, and has been said above - Bethesda couldn't give a **** about what we think. Second I am a big fan of Morrowind, but really dont like Oblivion. Now consider that Fallout 3 is saying **** you to the fans of the series, and saying it is like Oblivion with guns, and you start to see why I, and many others, are more than a little concerned about what one of our favourite game series is turning into.
[QUOTE="eirikeik"]Morrowind!declasse
Yeah Morrowind was awesome i played that for nearly a year and i never completed all of the main or side quests :)
I played that for over 100 hours, had been all over the island, become grand master of 2 guilds before I spoke to the man to trigger the main plot. The great thing was you could just play it how you wanted, and if you never wanted to trigger the plot, you didn't have to, and could still enjoy the game for months.
Morrowind is the greatest game and I would want to see it remade with better graphics and everything. Also all of the Legacy of Kain series and Thief games.Efielret
I don't think Morrowind would really benefit from being remade. It was pretty perfect as it was. What you're describing is just Oblivion. Same game better graphics. In my opinion anyway!
Onimusha 2 Samurais Destiny.
Beautifully done video game, fantastic story. The graphics were way ahead of their time and this was on the first PS2, not the slimline version.
Another one would be Tenchu Stealth Assassins. Some of the most acoustic guitar playing I have ever heard was on that video game. I wish I could find a sound track for it.
Fallout. Possibly the greatest PC game ever made.
Notable Mentions: Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX and X. My favourite games, but on a whole, I'd prefer the experience of Fallout anew now that I'm older.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Probably my favorite game of all time. I recently played through again but NOTHING compares to the first time.
or
Battlefield: 1942 - My first online FPS. I bought the game just because it looked cool (before the days of reading game reviews) and ended up having to buy a new video card just to play the damn game. I ended up LOVING it!
Halo Combat Evolved.II-FBIsniper-II
I totally agree with you here. If we're talking about re-playing a game as new and going through that 1st experience with a game then Halo:CE is the run away choice for me. No other game has even come close to it. Man that was a great time for me, I can only pray I live that again with another game.
