It got an 8.0 which is fair. Sorry if this is old.

They said in the review that this is a 3 disc game. Would anyone happen to know if all three discs can be downloaded to the harddrive? I'm hoping this can be done to prevent disc swapping during game play.XCyberForceXInstalling those discs to the hard drive would take about 15 minutes each, given the fact that it has to install nearly 9GB of data per disc. Mutiply that by 3. At least 45 minutes total installation time. Switching a disc takes about 10 seconds. I don't see the logic behind what you want to do.

:( Was hoping for better, but I wasn't waiting on the reveiw for the go ahead...I'm waiting for Feb 24th!
30-40 minute cutscenes? Ouch! I guess I've lost my right to complain about MGS4 now

So it'd be more efficient to just install the disc you are currently playing.

LOL, all right, I'm convinced. And yes I'm definitely going to get the game!

it really cracks me up when ppl complain about disc swapping. "oh man this sucks i aint getting a game cuz im too lazy to get up n swap a disc. EFF that."
[QUOTE="Mau-Justice"]The achievements are ridicolous... God I hate these kind.Making_PuddingYeah. These "COLLECT ALL OF THESE", "MEET ALL OF THAT", "SUCK ALL OF OF THESE" achievements really need to stop. Achievements should enhance gameplay and make you do things that enrich the story of the game you're playing, not make you go around randomly, collecting random pieces of crap. And to make it worse, it's almost every single one. Granted there's 24 secret achievements...the ones that aren't consist of Open 10% of Chests Open 20% of Chests Open 30% of Chests...etc all the way to 100% Come on guys, mix it up. and a Measly 30 points for getting 100% of all quests? You get more than that for doing tutorials/watching intros to some games. I'm not saying I want them to be easy, but I don't want to have to dedicate my life to the game for a weak 300/1000
Yeah, you're probably right. I guess disc swapping reminded me so much of those old PC days when I had to switch discs. Probably won't be a big deal at all.XCyberForceXIt isn't like you have to swap often. I mean you play like 14 hours and swap and so on. That is an estimate, but that was ruffly how Lost Odyssey was. It isn't bad at all. It would be worse switching between different games.
lol.Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Star Wars: A New Hope
Coincidence? I think not.

8.0 is a pretty good score. I'm sure it's way better than the Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery, so I might pick this game up when I get some more cash. I'm never one to ignore a JRPG.yokofox33the technical hitches in the last remnant scare me off. Ive actually bought the game but i haven't put it in yet. I have no motivation considering all the bad press it got.

I gotta tell you, The Last Remnant started off pretty cool. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, and the technical issues weren't even a problem for me. It's not nearly as bad as people say it is, especially if you install it to the HDD. But as I've progressed through the game, I've realized how broken and frustrating the game really is. I don't get the choices the developers made. It just suddenly took a turn for the worse. I don't think it's entirely my fault, but the game is just poorly executed.
For example, this could be my fault, but my Attack and Speed skills are solid (let's just say a 90 rating, but my Defense skills are at a measly 30! For every unit that I have! I really don't get it. Maybe I missed out on something, but friends I've talked to said their defense is low as well. That makes it horribly difficult to stay alive in major fights. Sure I could just equip armor, but wait! THERE IS NO OPTION TO EQUIP ARMOR!!! Sigh. There's other issues I have, but I won't list them here. I'm just a little upset because it started off pretty good, and has just become tedious and boring. I have no desire to finish it, but I will anyway. I'm just taking a break. Technical issues are one of the least troublesome parts about the game in my opinion. It's the other factors that make it a mediocre game at best. It's not terrible, but it's gotten worse as I've played.

this game looks pretty good. but I REALLY don't wanna constantly change disks, especially when I wanna go back to previous areas :Porb_03_2006Changing disc shouldn't be an issue. I was corrected on that. Read the other messages in this thread.
I dont what all of you guys are complaining about with disc swapping. It takes 10 seconds to swap disc.
I know disc changing takes seconds but I do find this one fact from the review annoying:
"However, the last disc is so packed with end-game cinemas that there isn't enough room for the universe worth of content. That means if you want to go back to a planet from the beginning of the game to complete a side quest, grab an item for synthesis, or look for bonus bosses and dungeons, you'll be prompted to insert one of the previous discs."

Well when you think about what other jrpgs got it's a great score. Not to mention Lost odyssey and Last remnant are underrated in my opinion so you never truly know how great it is until you've tried it. I'm very happy it scored this high i actually doubted it would. I'm getting this day one though just like i thought i would when i heard about it.
