ok, ok. so the game is supposed to be really good...but its not. the tony hawk series was much better. the thing that gets me the most is te control scheme. IT IS THE SKETCHIEST CONTROL SCHEME I'VE EVER PLAYED ON. it took me 20 minutes to figure out how to ollie! its crazy. and i dont like camera view. its from ground level and it looks kinda weird. but if your a fan of the tony hawk series, you probably wont enjoy skate as much as you did any of the tony haw games.
jajajajajaja if you took 20min to figure out how to do an ollie, I'm sorry but that user error. The controls in the Skate demo were easy as hell, TH tries to buy you with the insane score you can get from the most unrealistic tricks ever. while in Skate, if you want a high score you have to earn it. In Th you can do a grind and you can 100,000 pts in a min.
I'm really liking this game but honestly trying to some of the advanced flips and grabs is no joke. But i thinkthatspoint its not meant to be easy to a 360 flip to FS crooked grind. Okay not being able to ollie seems a bit erm...
i REALLY hope you were exaggerating. my friend came over and played it and he figured out how to ollie before he figured out how to push. IT'S NOT HARD. i've played all of the tony hawk games and none of them compare to Skate. the only thing i can complain about with Skate is that it's so frusterating, but other then that, great game.
hahaha, its more realistic then Tony Hawk... I personally love the controls and the game in general, its a refreshing look at skateboarding. It did take me a little while to get good with the controls on SKATE, but once i got good its a great feeling (:

Should of taken it to system wars my friend ;). Skate rides its arse on realism man so move as if you were skating :P
i think tony hawk has spoiled us to much, a 3 year old could play the game and with his huge stupidity of the later games, i mean grinding on dragons and rollercoasters forever comeone skate is a pretty good fresh breath of air
u noob, skate is better than any tony hawk game.....i played up to american wasteland then i never bought another tony hawk game. why? because its the same thing over and over get skate, get combo, get 1,000,000 points.
but skate its like a rea life skate video... all of skate video have that kind of view. the tricks r easy to get.

If you can't even figure out how to ollie you are pathetic. That is the whole point of the 5 minute training session, which it sounds like you skipped. Don't down the game for your own moronic mistake.
