im conducting a serious test about hardware problems. i just recentlym sent my 360 premium in to get fixed, and when i got a refurb back, i immedietly got the red lights of death. so i decided to try something. i went out and bought a 360 core system. i put a black mark on it. it is a black line arounf the xbox360 words on the side. i want to no if anyone here got this system. but more importantly i want to know how many people have had the red lights of death. microsoft claims its only 3% but i somehow doubt that. this is important. we spend all kinds of money on a gaming system and they dont work. i no that it is more than 3% so i would like u to answer the simple poll question. have u had to send ur 360 in to get fixed? oh ya and if a mod reads this could u maybe pin it to the top.dsman418
no i haven't got the 3 red lights of death never send it to repair and i have my 360 since december 2006...are u sayin that they are more broken 360's than the non-broken 360...?

no im saying that there is more 3% of broken 360'ds out of all the 360's soldim conducting a serious test about hardware problems. i just recentlym sent my 360 premium in to get fixed, and when i got a refurb back, i immedietly got the red lights of death. so i decided to try something. i went out and bought a 360 core system. i put a black mark on it. it is a black line arounf the xbox360 words on the side. i want to no if anyone here got this system. but more importantly i want to know how many people have had the red lights of death. microsoft claims its only 3% but i somehow doubt that. this is important. we spend all kinds of money on a gaming system and they dont work. i no that it is more than 3% so i would like u to answer the simple poll question. have u had to send ur 360 in to get fixed? oh ya and if a mod reads this could u maybe pin it to the top.dsman418
how is this a serious test? what are you going to do with your results? what do you think a poll on a game forum is going to prove? just a few questions to consider... by the way i've had to send mine in too. four times to be exact. microsoft said 3% way back when the 360s first started messing up. they recently looked at that number and realized it was higher than they had thought. that is why they extended EVERYONE'S warranty. they're trying to rectify the situation. at least they're doing something.
u no wut, i dont no im doing with these resualts but this will show that this is a bigger issue than microsoft thinks. why do u have to be negative, at least im trying to help the situation, wut r u doing........oh thats rihgt NOTHING. maybe ill send them to ms who no's. at least i can do something.

i'm sorry... did you read my post? i said microsoft KNOWS the failure rate is higher than 3%, they admitted that. that's why they extended everyone's warranty. you're not helping anyone, and microsoft doesn't need you to point this out to them because they already know. your heart is in the right place, but this is pointless.

No. Your test isn't "serious" - it isn't even scientific. The "refurb shuffle" problem is well known, however a 3% failure rate is high enough to account for the broken 360s. You do realize a 3% failure rate means that 3 out of 100 units fail, right? Hmm... 10.4 million units, means 312,000 units are broken. That's quite a few broken 360s. You're simply encouraging the problem of a vocal minority falsely representing the failure rate of any product.
As Microsoft has changed the refurb / return policy, the chances of someone getting your "marked" 360 are slim - they're discontinuing the shuffle as it was causing problems with faulty 360s winding up sent to people as repaired, with so many units (over 300,000, remember?) being dealt with, it's easy to see how that could happen.
u should've took the word serious out to the title, and just left it..."im conducting a test"...whutever...mines is running fine...got it in nov. 06....it was born on april 28, 2006. It freezes every once in a while but i say thats normal. I had more problems with my ps2, it wouldnt play dvd's, would play only certain cd's, and it didnt' play the blue bottom disc, i believe the ps2 format disc. That was out of the box too. nuthin is perfect if it was then what would be the point of warranties. ooo and i play mine about 5 hours a day almost daily after work. I heard the malfuctions the 360 was havin but that didn't stop me from gettin' one. Also i heard sumthing about a bunch of ps3 where overheating. after hearing that it didn't stop me from gettin..sony not sending enough made me not get one. And to you guys that are on your 3rd, 4th, or even 5th..dude i dont know about you, maybe ya'll just got bad luck. Better STart Scroing sum Karma Points!!
