I don't have a HDTV. I have a good tv thats plenty big, just no HD. Will the games still look awesome and what will I be missing?

The games will still look better than an Xbox or a PS2 or something. So yeah, the games will still look "awesome". You'll be missing out on HD though. So, high resolution, SHARPER graphics...etc. You know, HD :D

They look fine in standard def, but you will miss out on the wow factor at times is about it.

My brother played in standard def for a long time. It didn't bother him. But when he got an HDTV, he said it made him feel that much better about his 360.

So, to sum up, you'll still love it. But you'll love it more in HD.

HDTV is one of those things that you just don't realise what you are missing until you've experienced it.

You will be able to play fine in SD and enjoy the games. Some early games such as Dead Rising had issues with text not displaying clearly in SD, but there aren't many games I'm aware of with these problems.

Half of the Xbox 360 experience is having the ability to play in HD. When my HD TV broke I didnt even want to play on my 360, knowing how bad it looks without it. Its like eating without a fork, you can always eat with your hands, but its so much more nice to eat with a fork. :)

Do you have a widescreen LCD monitor? That alone is as good as an HDTV on a different setup.

My HDTV recently broke on me so I had to play Gears 2 on a normal TV and It wasn't that bad. Although Im sure when I play it on my new HDTV I will be blown away.

You could buy the 360 HDMI cable or HD AV cable but I think you would want the HDMI cable.

At least I think the HDMI one sounds best and is used for SDTV.

So this works on a SD tv? I thought you needed HDTV for this.

Well we recently got an HD and i tried my xbox 360 on it today and it does make it look much better(Gears of War 2 was just outrageous)but i've just moved it back to my standard tv(hey going to sleep with bullets and axes flying through the living room isn't everyones cup of tea)and it still looks great.Put it this way if you haven't tried HD you'll think standard looks excellent but once you make the switch it really makes you think, I mean i already plan on saving one up considering seeing HD again.

You'll be fine trust me.

I can tell a big difference. I play on 68cm standard tv in my room and 44inch HDTV in the living room. when i first tried it on the HDTV i was like WOWWWWWWWW this looks 10x better than on a normal tv, like the colours look spectacular!. The one thing ive noticed the most is that on standard tv, some bit on the edge of the screen is cut off and they dont show everything as they do on HDTV

I agree its a huge difference I had no intentions of getting a next generation console when I saw xbox 360 on my cousins regular TV. Then I went to his friend house who had a nice 32 inch LCD HDTV and I was blown away I wanted a system right away. Took me some time but I eventually got the LCD HDTV first 32 inch. Then I bought the System just rencetly.
