I'm happy to say I will be a proud gamer in the xbox community starting tomorrow. I never did own the original xbox so this will be a different experience for me. I'm wondering if there's anything I must do for sure when I buy it, should I get the extended warranty? Also the one I'm getting is the premium from Toys R Us which comes with 2 free games, you only get to choose from 3 games, but still it's a good deal. What 2 games do you recommend I get? Fuzion Frenzy 2, Viva Pinata, or Spiderman 3?
well outta those three viva is a must...but for the others toss i coin i guess....you should probably buy, or preferebly get someone else to buy, another game than any of those 3
Viva Pinata i'll get for sure. I realize the other two suck, but I'd at least like an honest opinion on which one to get. Also, how much is the extended warranty and is is worth getting?
Good for you! I hope you enjoy it. I would say Viva Pinata is a surprisingly fun game. I haven't played the other two but if you like party games and have friends over a lot go with Fusion Frenzy. If you like open gameplay (sort of GTA like) then go with Spiderman 3.
As for the warranty, I would buy my 360 from Costco because if something goes wrong, even if it is 2 yrs down the road, they replace it and give you a brand new one. But if you have already bought this at Toys R' Us then get the warranty just in case.
first thing you are going to need is an xbox live gold membership. i recommend just buying those prepaid cards at the store so u wont have to deal with credit cards. then you should get at least 1 extra controller. i also use the play and charge kit for one of my controllers (the one that i always use when i'm playing alone). and if u want to go online anywhere in your house, i'd recommend a network adapter that u can plug into your xbox through a usb port. i got the xbox brand ($100). i think you can use a cheaper adapter but i just bought the xbox one because i had the money and i didn't want to deal with problems of compatitbility of adapters. i love the fact that i can play online in any room of my house. that's all you really need when it comes to hardware or accessories. you won't need a fan. make sure that when u plug in your xbox, that you plug it directly into the wall, rather than an extension cord or plug multipliers. plugging it directly into the wall will give your 360 a good flow of electricity. i plugged mine into an extension cord that supports 3 plugs and my xbox overheated all the time. but once i plugged it into the wall i could play for 6 hours no problem. never played pass 6 hours cuz i always have things to do. now you need good games. one game that will definatly take up a lot of your time and has a lot of content would be oblivion (i've played for 83 hrs and still haven't even touched the main story line yet). a good shooter that's out right now is shadowrun, despite the bad reviews. it's different and it's fun and the fact that it doesn't have any ranks make the online community great, no stress. if u want a good shooter with good reviews then get rainbow six las vegas. fight night is fun too. but still look into shadowrun. i've been playing since it came out and i love it.
Thanks for the help^. I've pretty much get everything I want to know answered. I still want to know how much the extended warranty costs. I also have a wireless router, what adapters will be compatible that wont cost me a fortune ($100)
I've made up mind on the games already, (Viva Pinata, Spiderman 3). Now I just want to know the price of the extended warranty and what Wi-Fi adapters are compatible with the 360 (I have a wireless router).
Yes, I realize that, those are the only options that Toys R Us is giving. It's still better than going and getting just the xbox. I plan on getting oblivion, gow, halo 3 (when it comes out) and dead rising. Also does anyone know the best way to position the 360? Vertical or horizontal?
Well definatly get the warrenty you will not regret it. For the game get viva and if you have people that you are going to play with get fuzion frenzy 2 but if your by yourself get spiderman3.
if your smart you take spiderman 3 and viva pinata and keep viva pinata since it retails for less then $50 bucks and you take the un opened spiderman 3 game to walmart and tell them you received it as a gift and you dont have the receipt that you just want to trade it for a game of equal value, then the spiderman 3 game could turn into any xbox 360 game you want. i've done this 2 different times at 2 different walmarts, worked perfected at both stores. fuzion frenzy i think sells for 39.99 now or 49.99 which is discounted, so you couldnt get full price games without payin the difference.
