Have the new modles yet to take over fully? I mean like is there a chance that I can still get an old one with most of the problems?

Also with the newer models which I think have the Falcon, are they actually better? Do they RRoD as often?

I wouldn't necessarily say "eliminated". It is still there. My 360 got the RROD a few days ago and it was manufactured on Nov. 2nd, 2007. It was less than 1 year old and I took great care of it. So it is still there, but there is really nothing you can do about it.

Yeah it's definately worth it. I have a lot of friends with the 360 but only 2 of them have had this problem and both got it shortly after it was released. Even if you do get a lemon, the warranty will cover it as long as you aren't dumb enough to open it

I wanna help this guy out so click on the link if u want http://www.ihatemisty.com?id=q5fape0p4rv2bkdus9xughtvz7hk2y

Not true, the Elites have just as many problems. Get a brand new Xbox 360 60gb Pro since they are a brand new model and basically should have the falcon. The falcon chip lowers the chance of rrod by 23% from 33% to %10. They also run a lot cooler, and the new benq/liteon drives don't scratch discs randomly anymore.

i think the elite and arcade are probably least prone to failure. even though my arcade got the rrod. not sure about the 60gb premium but most problems i have heard about are on the 20gb version.

I'm also going to get a 360, but I'm not sure whether I should get the holiday bundle now (2 games which I could sell for a good one + €40 discount here in Belgium until the end of the year) or wait for the Jaspers?

The old 360 model had a 35-40% failure rate.

The new falcon model have a 10-13% failure rate.

So the chance for RR is still there, but its a drastically reduced chance of getting it. Like someone else said, there's still the 3 year warrenty that come standard with each new 360 incase your system does RR.

what games come with it. i know some stores will do a 60gb premium for £170 in the uk and the bundles are £180 and you can get 2 games. at the moment it is fable 2 and halo 3 i think

It's the standard Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda and I would trade those in/sell those immediately - that's always a few € to contribute to buying a good game. There's also a GeOW 2 bundle coming out soon, I might get that.

The Xbox 360 is a quality console to own, definately worth your investment, and while the RROD is still a possibility, you should not base your decision solely on statistics and failure rates, any piece of electrical kit, be it a console/TV/amplifier etc has a certain chance of failure, and Microsoft are being more than reasonable with their repairs.

So I would be alright with one of the holiday bundles?

I would definitely score a holiday bundle. It will have the new system in it, so low possibilities that you will have a lot of problems, plus you'll score some decent games with it. You can't go wrong with that, even if Microsoft may have to fix it in 1 year. LOL

get a 360, you wont regret it.

IF you get RRoD, spend some time outside. It wont hurt.
