I recommend Samsung, get the lowest response time 8 or lower is great. Get a widescreen monitor and anything above 19 inch will be great. I personally use a Westinghouse 22inch monitor because I got it for 200 bucks. But my friend has a really nice Samsung 19inch widescreen monitor with 2000:1 contrast ratio which is really good for bright lit rooms or if the sun glares onto your screen.  Watch the cheap monitors though, if you can afford it get a samsung or a dell monitor, also read the reviews for the monitor and you should be good to go. xelloss88I also reccomend Samsung. It has to be a good monitor, that is what M$ uses for their kiosks when they show off the 360 system.
The only thing I have against the 360 and a PC monitor is the VGA cable makes the picture look washed out on PC monitors. Also when it was hooked up at VGA I couldnt set the brightness and what not so the picture didn't look as good as my HDTV.NiteX

That's true, but apperently, beginning of may, with the xbox live updates, they said they will fix that, probably the safest will be to see how well they do that...
cheers!Â
I got a monitor for my 360 because its way cheaper than a good hdtv. i just got a Mag 22" wide screen monitor for $330 at best buy and i have no complaints. The microsoft cable was $40 but it was worth it, it comes with a vga coupler and a useful rca to 1/8" adapter for the audio.
as for the widescreen question. it makes a big difference on the 360. alot of the games only do widescreen resolution so on a fullscreen monitor it's really small. I played Dead rising on my 19" fullscreen and it sucked in my opinion.

Also you may neecd a vga to dvi adapter if your monitor only supports a dvi input. thats like 10-40 bucks depending where you get it.Â
I reccomend a Samsung LCD Monitor. THe one I am using now is a 19" non-widescreen and it looks amazing. You should go widescreen and get the newer model of the one i'm using right now.

That monitor is great , it offers a 3000:1 aspect ratio. Its a bit steepy in price but you will get what you paid for.Go to the link and check out the specs, there quite good!
also, don't worry about the brands as much as the return policy and price. if you take it home and it looks good, keep it. if you don't then bring it back. And if you get it shipped make sure they got a return policy if you got dead pixels because ive heard alot of horror stories involving that.

the monitor market is so competitive they are all decently priced and you usually get what you pay for unless you are at some no named sketchy online store.Â
This is what I'm using currently, just got it in the mail today, a VERY good monitor for gaming, a great price for the size as well:

That url isn't working for me. I keep getting a 'page was reset' error. Could you tell me what company makes it and what it's model # is? I'd like to see it.Â

I dont know if you guys have ever used the vga cable and a monitor, but I believe they look better than most hdtv's.Â
I have a LG 20 inch monitor that i got for 300 cdn, and it is just awesome. The picture is amazing and the contrast is at 2000:1, response time is at 5 ms. My monitor looks better than my friends samsung 1080p plamsa.Â
[QUOTE="knero"]How do you hook up your 360 to a computer moniter? It's probably a stupid question but i'm not very use to this stuff.Teroza49i am interested to knwo that to
u have to buy a separate VGA cable, its $40
