Just wanted to say that I took the advice and bought the Xbox 360 Arcade for €130. I'm having alot of fun playing Fable II: GOTY Edition.

Congrats and you should check out the recommendation sticky for some older games. There are a lot of great games that are under $20 now.
even though there's a cost, I highly recommend xbox live. I didn't want to pay at first, but once I got it, it was well worth the cost.
yeah a lot of places (including amazon) still have 12 - month subscriptions for $35 (I dunno what that is in euros). When you first connect to Xbox Live though, select "Silver membership" and they'll give you a free month of Gold. But when you decide to buy a subscription, do yourself a favor and get a full year. I did month-to-month for a while and it sucked because I would always be worrying about finding the money to buy more XBL time (in college, no job).
This is why Twitter was invented.
But following the trend, here are some recommendations of old games:
Fallout 3
Bioshock
Mass Effect
Gears of War 1 & 2
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Assassin's Creed I & II
Halo 3
You couldn't have gotten it at a better time all the old games that are stillpretty good have gone down inprice.
this is a must.also. i would pick up the xboxlive messenger kit. it comes with a head set, pgr4 game, the keyboard pad that hooks on your controller and a 12 month gold card all for 69.99. also should try to get a hard drive. think ms sells the 20 gigs for 19.99 since the avatar updateCongrats and you should check out the recommendation sticky for some older games. Coolness! I got my 360 the day after Christmas. I'm having alot of fun with it, and there are many great games coming out in the early part of this year-- Mass Effect 2 (January 26), Splinter Cell: Conviction (February 3), and Final Fantasy XIII (March 9), to name a few.
