And my PC's video card just overheated too...omg what do I do? Intercooler maybe?

I was also wondering if there's any early indication that the 360 is starting to overheat, so I can moderate how much I play on it.

I never hear good things about intercoolers. But maybe someone else has. Make sure the 360 has a lot of space around it . as far as moderation just feel the 360 everyonce in a while. I have heard of people having fans blowing on their 360.

You don't have air conditioning? Do you live in a cave or something?

I don't have an AC either but I do have a great heater. I COULD buy one buy I'm cheap. Anyway just feel it every once in a while I played my Xbox 360 last summer and it was around 115 here. Just let it rest every hour or so that is what I did.

Do not spring for the Intercooler. I've had no experience with it, but I've read up on it enough and have friends with it. The intercooler actually works your 360 harder therefore generating more heat, thus negating whatever cooling may come from the fans. * Note that the power needed for the intercooler may even be greater than the cooling that its fans provide. * I wouldn't worry too much about it overheating, but make sure it has plenty of space around it and that your room is always well ventilated. If it does end up with the dreaded RROD, you can send it in to MS if its still under warranty, if not then you can always try the fix it using the DIY method found here: http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair/ring_of_light_x-clamp_fix.htm Good luck with all your gaming endeavours

It's 99°F here, cuz I live in the middle-east. So, most of you are quite lucky!

not sure how accurate this is but i heard somewhere that attaching an intercooler to your 360 can affect you warranty so if something happens you could be screwed not 100% sure on that though...

also from what ive gathered using an intercooler on the 360 draws more power from the console and sucks the air out of the 360s cooling fans making everything work a lot harder

If your room is that frakken hot there's not much you can do. Intercooler or a Laptop cooler may help a bit but ... there's only so much you can do when you're just redirecting hot air.

What to do is to buy a small cheap fan and place i next to your xbox and that should keep it cool, or even buy a fan with a usb plug and plug that in to ur xbox so it is not taking up space in ur socket.

Yea, thats the best bet.

But really, if its 90 to 100 degrees in your house, I wouldn't risk it either way. I'm guessing if you dont have AC, you probably live somewhere a bit up north and you're just going through a heat-wave or something, so just wait for a cooler day.

first get a big fan to keep the air circulating around the room you game in. If you can't get your room to a nice cool temperature during the day, then only play your 360 at night. and dont play for like 8hrs straight. Thats my advice.

Up here in Vancouver the 1-2 months of hot summer doesn't really justify, sorry if I don't live as close to the equator as you do.

Install your games on your Xbox. Especially the ones that you will be playing a lot. If you do that it's basically the same thing as watching a movie on xbox. It's quiet as heck.

I'm going to post this for like the 5th time, but it works for me. What I do is keep my console vertical. I place a fan like the one below, blowing on the LEFT side of the console. That would be the bottom if it was sitting horizontally. This is the side of the console that gets the hottest when it's on. I keep the fan on its lowest setting. The sound doesn't bother me because I usually have my speakers cranked anyway. I can play for several hours and feel that side of the console. It feels as if the console was never on. Not hot at all. Say what you want about this, but it gives me peace of mind. If I have the console on for even 30 minutes without the fan on, that side feels hot. Try it some time, see the difference and let me know what you think.

Same thing here. I live down in AL and its already starting to hit 96degrees and we havent even reached the hottestmonths of the summer yet. I usually leave my ceiling fan on tje highest setting. Then, if its REALL REALLY hot, I'll turn on the AC. Unfortuenately, I don't have the money to be paying off a $500 light bill if i were to have the AC on all the time i play xbox.

It was well over 100°F here yesterday, I live in Vegas. One summer we topped out at 119°F or 121°F, something like that. It gets crazy hot here. Everyone owns an A/C here. You're just asking for trouble if you don't.

Probably going to set up a fan beside my consoles.

Sigh, the things we do for our beloved gaming systems.

Hey man, I'm telling you, this works pretty well. You don't even need the AC on although that certainly does help too. Come back and tell me how it feels after a couple of hours.

1. Get a Laptop Cooler for your Xbox. Apparently it's pretty good.

2. Put your computer back in the fridge when you're done with it. Duh.

Do not buy an intercooler. Just keep your 360 in a well ventilated area to help it keep cool.
