So, I have been struggling with my 10GB Hard drive for soooooooooo long.

Anyway, new XBOX 360 comes out, PERFECT! For my birthday? Nope, nothing for my birthday. Although, my brother gets the new XBOX 360! + Dead Rising 2 for his. Even though he already broke my PS3, 2 PS3 controllers, around 4 games. Broke one of my XBOX 360 controllers, almost broke my XBOX 360 for the SECOND time. Broke some of my XBOX 360 games. He also broke my headset, and probably much more. Now he gets the NEW XBOX 360.

With the Harddrive I need, but apparently he needs it even though he doesn't know what gigabytes are. He's SEVEN years old.

He's never even used up megabytes on my hard drive. So he would've been perfectly fine with my XBOX 360. And to add on to all of this, he won't even give me the new controller that comes with to make up for everything.

NOW! I was just made to set everything up for him and now let him play my games still...

Do I have all rights to be enraged? Like this is so dumb, ugh.

Anything you think I can do... I just mean, do you agree this is extremely stupid? The main reason is so me and my brother do not fight over the XBOX 360 anymore, and if I got the new XBOX 360 my brother would flip. Therefore, my parents don't want to deal with it and I'm more "mature" so I should be able to deal with things. Why, yes I can deal with things better but this is just purely unfair. Oh, he has also almost broken my current XBOX 360.

GRRRR!

*Edit* Oh, yes not to mention he's also torn through my WII, Nitendo DS and my PSP .

*edit* To add discussion, has anything dumb like this happened to you before? Anything similar? And do you agree what happened with me is just absolute stupidity. ?

dude, younger brothers, or mainly the youngest child of the family always gets the better end of everything in a family, they are always most spoiled. Though by the sound of everything you have or had owned you've had your fair share as well.... If I was you, when I was your age, I would just get sneaky with my little bro... why are you even asking for permission... the more you make him feel that something he has is cool and you want it, the more he isnt going to give you anything. Try switching the hard drives when he isnt paying attention, he probably wont even notice... try to trade him something for his controller you want.... Make it sound like you rather have what you have then what he has because what you have is better, and usually he will then want what you have again and you can take advantage of him.... For example be like "I'm glad I only have the 10GB hard drive because you can do this this and that, but you cant do that with yours, so im glad I have the one I have" " me and my friends like the old controllers better because the new controllers dont work well and the buttons can stick sometimes on certain games" play mind games with him, If he is 7 years old he isnt going to know the difference and shouldnt be smart enough to compete with your mind games haha

Well, I find there reasoning on this is if I get it my brother will flip out and won't co-operate and will not leave my new XBOX 360 alone. Therefore, my parents don't want to deal with my brother being a brat. So since I'm older, I should just be able to deal with it because how much older I am than him.

I assume you wont just go push him down and take what you want because then he will just tell your parents and you will get in trouble right?? so thats why I gave the other advice.... when me and my bro were kids the original gameboy came out... My parents would always get him the sweet games I wanted, and I would get dumb games I didnt want.... So thats why I had to act like the games I had were better, so he would want to trade me.... then when he would want to trade I would keep playing along... I dont know man, my game is better.... then when he begged enough I would be like ok, alright, just this one time because your my brother, but you are lucky because now you have the best game ever lol

The kid told me, "Do EVERYTHING I say, be very nice to me and be my slave and I'll think about letting you play my XBOX 360." Seriously? I'm being treated like this by my SEVEN year old brother? My parents let him do anything he wants to me, and things like this as well. But I apparently just need to deal with it because I'm older and can handle things better. Overall, they just don't wanna deal with my bratty brother and I'm not a brat and my parents know that so they know it will be more peaceful if they just give him what he wants.

Well if that truly is their reasoning that is some completely BS and poor-piss parenting on their part (no offense to you, I hope) and furthermore it sounds as though they need to grow freakin' a backbone and properly handle your brother's brattiness! What they should have done was put their foot down and said to him 'when you can act like you got some sense and can be respectful of your big brother's stuff, then you can have your own'.

I mean, seriously--I'm raging FOR YOU....does your parents just have money to throw away like that?? God forbid if I even had a kid like that (which I don't have any....geez, these are the moving influences for NOT getting pregnant!), he wouldn't get nothing but crayons and coloring books until he shows me he can refrain from being a little destructive brat.

your parents r permissive types letting ur little brat brother take over their lives... i think its annoying to have a little brother like that, but it is so the 2 of you won't fight over the 360 though y should he get to play with ur games when he has broken so many of ur things... hmm? conclusion, telling ur parents they are bad parents.... lol

You just gotta be more like me, my 6 year old brother tries to borrow my games all the damn time. I never let him touch them, nor my controllers, or my PS3. He has his own Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS. Also he has a much diverse selection of games. I have about 10 or 12 games, he has like 20. So the hell with him and borrowning my stuff. Even if my parents try to get me to let him borrow them, I tell them to piss off, they didn't buy my games so Im not sharing, just for reasons you stated.

Bad Parenting, but a good failsafe logic. With your age, I would suggest trying to find ways to get some cash and buy a hard drive upgrade.

Are you saying I shouldn't be playing any of these games at all? Are you serious? I'm 14 but I'm quite mature for my age. If you honestly think that I'm too young to be playing M rated games then you need a reality check. Anyway, wanna hear things even better? The only reason they let him play them is because I play them and it's "Not fair" if I can play them and he can't. It's also not fair if I stay up till 12 and he can't. Oh, we also have to share the front seat. Anyway, I don't quite understand your post so if you werent directing the way I thought you were I'm sorry for that. Anyway, I really don't think it matters too much if kids play these games I just find it can be a real annoyance when they let them play online. I mean, other parents let kids do it then those kids go to school and spread it around, so it's really quite hard to avoid. Overall, no parents should do it. But since those few parents do, it just gives it less of a reason to not let your younger kids play. Get my point?

This whole thread simply highlights reasons why it is a shame that parents are no longer allowed to beat their kids. If I had-- scratch that- when I acted like that my dad just whooped my a** real good and all of the sudden I learned that by not being a little s***, I would be able to sleep on my back by bedtime. Now we have children that go unchecked for so long that they end up bringing automatic weapons to school.

Hell to the yes, on that one!! Clearly, we must be of the same generation of parents not taking any **** lol. I wish I would have acted a damn fool like at that age....hell, me throwing a tantrum was NOT an issue at (not if I still wanted to be able to SIT on behind!). All it took was one good ass-whooping from my mama (rest her soul) and I quickly saw the err of my ways. Thankfully, I learned really easily that being a brat didn't exactly net me any advantages in life.

Well, my parents were beaten and they say that it really never changed anything. But I find there are times where contact could work. For example, in this where he's being a brat. Up close personal conflict with the parents, on the other hand secretive things which your kids are doing while there out and about, beating might not work so well with. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

after a little research, I have come to the conclusion that your being ripped off several gb on you HDD. Its not impossible, my 120gb came with only 107gb. And my brand spanking new Halo Reach Xbox 360 console came with 238gb.

While I suppose that's their view and all, having NO SORT of discpline is completely unacceptable (as even you, yourself, can somewhat agree w/). All they're really doing is setting themselves up for having a completely unruly and trouble deliquent down the line--all b/c no one ever taught him the meaning of the word 'No'.

I had discipline till I was around, 6ish? Then it started to lower and lower. Maybe I just turned out special or something, or those 6 younger years really actually helped me.

LOL, I don't think it's that you turned out special or anything (well given it seems as though you very well-adjusted and mature for stated age) more so than the fact that you likely did learn from that discipline (no matter what form you parents used then). All it takes is some sort of corrective disciplining--it doesn't necessarily have to be whoopings/spanking or anything--early on to lay the foundation for what we learn is acceptable behavior in life and what's not.

Clearly, it seems that for whatever reason your parents seem to have thrown that out the window by the time your brother came along. Just by the way you explain it, it seems as though this passive approach they are doing is already starting to sow the seeds in his head that he can do whatever he wants and act how he pleases and it's alright.

I dread to think what's gonna happen another 7 or so yrs down the line (if they don't rear in that kind of behavior somehow) when he hits them 'teenage years'....I get the strong feeling he ain't gone be nothing like you are now (at that age).

id hate to have a brother like yours....apparently your parents like your brother more then you....you could just save up money and buy the system you need.....screw your brother..

It's all become so clear, THIS is why my parents never had another child after me. My parents would beat my butt if I ever got out of line. They wouldn't do it in public, they'd wait until we got home. I've had to deal with bratty cousins who'd break my stuff. I'd have to hear the whole "Why does Jamie get a new gaming console and I don't?" spiel.

1. You're older than your brother, teach him some respect. 2. Get a job and buy an Xbox 360/games yourself. 3. Sneak into his room and switch his hard drive with yours. He'll never know.

[QUOTE="El_Zo1212o"]This whole thread simply highlights reasons why it is a shame that parents are no longer allowed to beat their kids.If I had-- scratch that- when I acted like that my dad just whooped my a** real good and all of the sudden I learned that by not being a little s***, I would be able to sleep on my back by bedtime. Now we have children that go unchecked for so long that they end up bringing automatic weapons to school.Wakanoid

Take it from a certified taken-an-ass-whoopin' -ologist: my Gramma dealt out spankings when necessary, and my Grampa whipped off his belt more than once. When I was six, my dad took over, and I got some almighty good ones from then until I moved out at seventeen- did I hate him for it? Sure. At the time. Now? I'm thankful for it because my brothers and I are better men for it. And when the ass whoopins are just right, you'll be too scared to do anything worse than curse when they aren't around.
