60 mother freaking bucks . for a piece of plastic? i mean cmon, i thought they were bad when they were 50 but now at 60 for a new one is ridiculous. $40 tops is what it should be IMO. and for 17 year old like me who's dad wont buy him any new games anymore and doesn't have a job (i been applying everywhere, so far empty handed) it's tough getting some of the newer games and i been having to settle for old used ones. is there any kind of rumor when there is a possible price cut on next gen games in the future? otherwise me and many others have to settle on like 2-3 new games a year.

yah just like gas prices there not coming down when its new. higher price but people still buy it so lets see where it goes. dont be suprised if its 70 bucks a game for the next gen as a minimum.

try harder to get a job. dont just apply, walk in and ask to set up an interview. squeeky wheel gets the grease.

i thought i couldnt get a job for a while, but then i decided to just do it. the more you wish game prices were lowered still doesnt make it happen. and earning money to pay for your own things is much more satisfying. take any job you can get, even if it sucks.

Yeah but video games do cost a lot of effort and money to make nowadays. I don't understand why some lousy games go for full price though... it costs $80 here in Canada.

do you have any idea how much a good, modern, next-gen game costs to develope? if they capped prices at 40 dollars their profit would probably fall so low that it wouldn't be worth it to continue making games at all, and then where would we be? Besides, brand new games haven't cost less than 50 bucks for like 7 or 8 years, and you only now start complaining?

It's unfortunate, but it won't change. Originally the Xbox 360 1st part games were going to be$50. I think this was true for some of the launch games. I picked up PDZ for $50 when it launchedand it wasn't a sale.

Yea, I wish the prices could be lower, but we eat up games like nobody's business. The companies have no reason to drop the price if we keep on buying them out the ass. Supply and Demand at its best... or worst.

well your not paying for a piece of plastic the actual dvd the games comes on only costs llike a dollar your paying for the money it took to develop the game . when this gen started the price it took to make a video game went up not to mention the they also have to pay MS so they can put the game on their console. So the price is justified but yeah its high. I think that they are going to try and get it down though because everyone knows that the gaming industry will ctake a major loss if we have to pay 70 buks for one game

While I agree with you I think you might have used the wrong saying...That generally means, snubbing out a complainer.

Games are still relatively cheap in comparison to historic prices. I remember many new N64 games were released at 60 bucks (in the US), I have an old ad for FF7 for like 60 bucks at release, an old Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck game for the genesis that has a price sticker that says $65, and I remember some NES games being 60 bucks. Don't forget to take inflation into account as well...

if we were communists no money would ever go towards making games...it would all be used to feed the hungry or something stupid like that....if you really wanna be a gamer the only real type of government you can florish under is facism...
