They really pushed TV. I dont even have cable TV. I only use netflix and Hulu plus. I thoght this was the trend lately. Why are they pushing cable/sat. TV functions so much?

Im kinda with you there, and i really hate to admit that. Ive been an xbox fanboy for as long as i can remember but now idk what to think. I really dont like the kinect it is a cool feature and all when you have a group of friends and a game thats worth it but i never cared for the voice control crap, call me lazy but i just wanna relax on my couch with a beer and get my game on thats it. Im not a TV person I either work or Im at home playing xbox. I consider myself to be a hardcore gamer and i just dont see the Xbox one having what i need to get my fix yet. But who knows they could surprise us by showing us what it can really do at E3. Maybe the reveal was more for the mainstream crowd and families that only have an xbox for media purposes like netflix and Hulu and HBO go, and their saving the awesome gaming power for the real gamers at E3 .... I can only hope thats whats up. Ive never hated playstation but it was never my cup of tea, but now..... my mind is starting to swing that way. I have a PSvita and i love it. but dont forget about the ouya that might be something. and now Im even thinking of trading in my windows phone for android :( Cmon Microsoft please dont do us wrong!!!

DONT LISTEN to anyone that is bashing either console. these are the people stuck in a cave with a brain that never developed. just wait untill E3 and more information will be brought to attension. tTis is what adults do, for some kicking and screaming at thin air is still all they know how to do. Microsoft for sure is dedicationg the majority of their confrence to the hard core fans. Maybe Sony goes the opposite this time or maybe half entertainment half games. Just breath, there is still like 5 months to go. Your wallet is in you pocket not theirs.

That is what I am doing. I think the Playstation 4 looks fanatastic, but I am not counting Microsoft out so far. The only bad things I will say about it so far is the possibility of the extra fee for used games. Otherwises, everything else Xbox has been "bashed" for is un-called for. People are complaining about no backwards compatibility. Well guess what? PS4 has the same thing. And the other things people are angry about such as not being able to use old controllers on the new system or use old mics is just as stupid to complain about. It's just a transisition of moving forward with technology. And don't say the crap about how Microsoft is being money hungry, because they are a company that is supposed to make profit.

how could you be torn? the PS4 clearly has gamers in mind, while the XBOX has TV watchers in mind.... its a no brainer, and this is coming from someone who used their 360 1000000000000% more this gen than their PS3.

Ive never been a console fanboy. I love games, the system they run on is just a means to play the games. If a game is good or bad its because of the developer who made it and not the system it runs on. With that said I do prefer and buy the majority of games on comparable competing systems like xbox vs. ps2, 360 vs. ps3 and such in the console that has the options and such I like best. The other console I just buy its few exclusives I cant get anywhere, but the majority of my money goes to the other.

In this case so far I have no interest in a xbox one, the ps4 is what has captured my interest.

1) I refuse to pay to get online with the xbox one when my pc is free to get online with, the ps3 is free to get online with and I presume sony will make the ps4 free to get online with also. I wont pay MS for the ability to play games online when their competition lets me do it for free.

2) The whole used thing is still confusing and I read conflicting comments but I wont pay a license to play a used game. To me limiting my game without a license fee is like me buying a game I don't actually own and am free to do with what I want without a string attached. I cant let a friend borrow it, I cant sell it without it being of less value due to license required for other person to play it, and I cant even rent a game without buying a license for it. Of course this may change since MS has told contradicting statements on the topic.

3) I don't want my xbox to phone home every 24 hours so I can continue to play games. Its a small gripe but I still resist it because that's how things get messed up is when we accept little inconveniences as no big deal then turn later and see them all piled up being one big inconvenient mess that is annoying as hell. That's how DRM has gotten so bad is we just accepted everything in small stages and it progressively got worse. I know "it isnt a big deal dude" well it is a big deal to me, I shouldnt have to verify my system I paid for every 24 hours simply because it is my system I paid for and belongs to me. Too many people anymore let companies inconvience them little by little when they shouldnt be doing it at all.

4) I don't want the xbox to listen to me even when its off and when its on I don't want it always watching and listening to me. Stupid gripe I know but see number 3.

5) I don't want Kinect2 required because I have one already and I don't like it, I don't want a system where its required because then Kinect features will get shoe horned into games making me talk or move around to play when all I want to do is sit back and relax to play games. Not to mention saying something or moving my arm to do something is inefficient since I can push a button with less thought and 1/10th of the speed. Yes ps4 has a new camera system but it isn't required to even use the system, its optional.

6) I don't want to support MS because they wont let indie devs self publish their titles. Ps3/ps4 and pc both support open publishing for indies but MS wants contracts and such. Im not a huge fan of indie games really because I dont like many of them but I still think its a dick move to put restrictions on just a little guy who wants gamers to play his game on their system. They should grateful to anyone who puts a game on their system because it makes them money.

7) The specs for xbox one and ps4 are pretty close but in every field the ps4 is either its equal or superior. Ps4 overall has better hardware under the hood.

8) I don't care if I can update fantasy football on the fly, I don't care if I can watch tv on it, I don't care if I can use it as a DVR, I don't care about any of that social media or television garbage. I just want to play games. I don't want a set top box, I want a game console.

9) I don't like they barely spoke about games. They mentioned a few while sony had triple the amount of games they talked about and they focused on gaming while MS spent 90% of the time talking about football and television and how you can change channels by talking.
