Maybe relationships with NPC characters. Any other ideas?

um since when can you improve on perfection?
i say children characters.
more races.
more balanced dificulty.
less framerate issues.
less pointless quests.but considering bethesda's probably already halfway done, i doubt our opinions count

i know for a fact that they would never put children npc's in this game or any other game like this..gta..fable. because that gives u the option to kill them and that wouldnt go over well in ratings..killing regular people ..but killing children is a different thing

Somebody's never played Fallout! Seriously, in the first Fallout they added children by a patch, which were fully killable but doing so would see a group of bounty hunters come to kill you. They were in Fallout II as well, especially the pickpocket children in the Den, where there was total anarchy. Let me just put it this way, child or not, you steal my stuff and you're going to answer to my 12 gauge. (Only in games of course) People need to lighten up with games. They are a virtual world which at their base level are a way to escape reality and live out any fantasy that we want. In life, I'm an easy going guy who rarely if ever resorts to confrontation to solve a problem, in some RPGs I like to roleplay a guy who would do the exact opposite, but the matter remains that even if I play an evil character in KOTOR who tries to rule the galaxy and punt babies, that doesn't mean that I'll be doing it the next time I step outisde.I doubt they'll include more races. The races for the elder scrolls series have pretty much been the same since Daggerfall, if not Arena.
I'd like to see a magic-only character actually be able to do damage at higher levels. It gets to a point where your spells either do too little damage to the high level monsters, or they cost so much magicka (mana, whatever) that you can cast them maybe three times before you need to hide and wait for you magicka to recharge.
I'd like to be able to see everything from far away all the time. I've heard there's a licensable technology that lets things dynamically change the number of polygons they're made up of as you get further away from them. Further away = less detail = better framerates.
For the guy who said multiplayer: it's my understanding that the guys at Bethesda are working on an MMORPG of some kind. Maybe Elder Scrolls V? I doubt it. Elder Scrolls has always been about single-player only, but we'll see.
I'd like to see the ability to get user-made mods (free) on the console version.

I agree with you %100 there.
I think your idea with some user made mods would be a sweet addon as well.
I think relationships with NPC characters would be pretty sweet as well. That would be a great addition.
Duel weilding would be a very nice addition as well. They would probably have to do something to make 2h weapons deal a little more damage but it's nothing Bethesda can't handle.
As far as MMO Elder Scrolls, I wouldn't want it to be multiplayer. I want it to be single player only game. It's supposed to be an epic adventure into the world where you can go where you want and do what you want. It's a unique adventure. If they did multiplayer, it could be something like Arena fights or betting on Arena fights (as a way to earn money). That's the extent of multiplayer that should be included if they decided for it.
better crime penalty... you should be able to flee from it... or somethingRolandReeve
I agree. I believe there should be different kinds of things. Like be able to get a job and play mini games(just to make things alittle less repetative),more factions like royal guard, ability to invest money in shops/towns,maybe even help create a new city, buy more houses/create your own, maybe buy a boat and get to tell it where to go,maybe enemy towns where you can raid and steal stuff from. Just really refine everything create really powerful spells, ability to design your own weapons, and just more customizing.

fable 2 has children...fable 2 lets you get your NPC wife pregnant...then have children, both of which are very killable ;)
Quite honestly this game is still a long way off. My only beef with TES:IV was that leveling up didn't make me feel powerful since everything scaled with me. Why can't they zone it so you progress to higher level zones, yet you can go back to "lowbie" zones and feel like you've accomplished something?stoutlad
I agree i always felt really weak if i didn't level up perfectly. Which kinda got boring so i think i played a tony bit lower than normal if my char got too weak. Which i hated it i hope they fix that in the new one.

... you my friend have apparently been reading my mind.
I really enjoyed the Solstheim expansion to ESIII Morrowind where you could basically build your own colony. I do think that if they added all of the Elder Scrolls games together to make a giant world where you could travel to the other landmasses like Morrowind or Skyrim it would make the game more enjoyable. I also think more customization would be nice... create your own house or be able to make weapons from harvesting ore. More customization would be nice. On the multiplayer front, I acutally found a cure for the single player/multiplayer battle. Have different realms or whatnot, like one realm would be SP, and another would be MP.

Yes i'd love just running around in multiplayer killing people. Also if they added co-op it would be pretty nice to go around and kill everyone with friends! But i'd rather there be a different world rather than your own so you can go around doing whatever without messing up your sp. It sucked i did that quest in elders scrolls 3 and it glitched. Never worked i made my house and everything but the city never came. I looked into guides and did everything right it was a drag.
I think they should make you feel more human. A few examples to help would be that if you don't eat food then your fatigue will regenreate slower, same if you don't sleep.(Waiting can be considered sleeping though since you are resting)
I also think that when you sell things you should get better deals when sealing to shops that deal with your item. So you'd get more money selling a sword to a weapons store then a food store.
Also I'd like cooler looking armor. Some of the armor is kinda lame.
Get rid of the level scaling MoBs please. I always liked the MMO feeling of having dangerous zones / caves/ dungeons, that you knew you would have to grind before stepping into. There's nothing better then running for your life from a killer dragon, that eventually gets you and coming back and getting revenge. Oblivion took all of the fear of being in the wrong place away.
Some outdoor castles, forts, or other types of enemy encampments would be nicer then rehashed dungeon after dungeon.
In the end though I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for ESV I wouldn't expect to see it until the next gen, or at least the last cycle of 360/ps3 games.
That would be cool, I really liked having to eat food in EQ. It gave the game more of a natural feel to it.I think they should make you feel more human. That made me laugh. They need to seriously improve from what Oblivion was. I have it for both 360 and PC. On the PC it is near perfect, you know why? I have twenty random plus mods to fix it. My 360 copy would be collecting dust if my sister hadn't been playing it. Also they do not need to add multiplayer. That would dumb the series down even further than what Oblivion did.um since when can you improve on perfection?

I laughed. Sorry, but Oblivion was far from being perfect. Save for the graphics, combat, and AI it was worse than Morrowind in every way.
Killing children NPCs? Just make it so they are NOT killable. But killing adults are okay? Anyways, it's just a game, and that's why we have ESRB ratings. If you cant handle it, dont play it. And if you're underage, you should stay at least 10 feet away from it. Improvements? Gee, someone asked, how can you improve a game of perfection? Perfection? Hah, far from it. They need to improve on the following:
1. Better graphics.
2. Inplement a combat sytem.
3. NPC's need facial expressions, and act and move more naturally. They're so stiff.
4. Special effects are so dated, this also falls into graphics.
5. Greatly improve third-person view, or dont put it in at all.
6. Less running around, spending countless hours doing meanlingless quests and more sidequests and missions that play a part into the main story.
7. Dont try to be fable, having a house, all that, has no point in this game. Useless.
8. Include a sprint function.
9. Be less dated.
10. Less land that sends you off roaming around aimlessly. I get it, landscapes are beautiful to look at it and all, but tredging around for miles coming across the same looking rock and bush gets really old, fast.
11. Improve the melee-play. I felt like I was buttering a slice of bread when I was swinging a sword around.
I guess some of you guys who loved the game, managed to look pass all its outdated-ness. I couldnt stand it, but I really tried to like-love it. I hope Oblivion 5 is more appealing to me, and I'm pretty sure it will be since it will be next gen.

All of that and:
- A better stealth system
- Medium armor
- Some new weapons
- NPC relationships like in Fable.
