Me and my friend have been trying to have a system link match of Gears of War for well over an hour now.

It can detect the system, as it wouldn't let us create a match otherwise, but it when the other person searches for the match it doesn't come up.  Can anyone help?  Any help would be much appreciated.

Well your cat5 is connected system > system, right?  Try making a game with the other console and see if it does the same thing

Make sure your systems are up to date (As in the Game Update), I had the same issues that your talking about and it was a System update issue. Connect your systems to Xbox Live and load the game and you should be good to go.

Okay, here's the setup;

My 360 on computer desk plugged into monitor, friend's 360 plugged into television on table.

The cable is plugged into both 360s.

And yeah, they've both been updated.  We put his 360 online dead quick to update it and still nothing happened.

Though you don't need a cross over cable for the 360s anymore, Try using one ethernet cable plugged into a Switch or a Router and the other pluged into the other 360s. So ( 360a Plugs into Router and 360b plugs into other port of the router.)

But other then that I have no idea becuase I just updated my friends console for Annex and worked right off the bat.
