Does anyone know the level of difficulty of this game (on the easiest, lowest setting, which i don't know the name of)?

Rate it on a scale of easier or harder than Gears of War on the casual setting.  More importantly, is R6V OFFLINE co-op?

bro your going to get a million different opinions.  so ill start with mine.  i think the easiest setting on R6:Vegas is on par with GoW easiest setting.  realistic however on R6 i feel is considerably harder than GoW's hardest level setting.  why i dont know.  just feels that way to me.

I'm going to have to say that Rainbow Six's Normal setting (lowest one) is about the same as Gears' casual. It's tricky until you get used to the cover system and where the optimal points to take cover are. For your second question, Rainbow Six does have offline co-op doing either the story mode or terrorist hunts, but there is no offline competitive multiplayer.

I've only played RV6 on the default difficulty so far ( i guess that's normal) and its not bad, mostly because you often have 2 teammates you can send head first into the fray, they aren't that bad either, they do a lot of the work for me in tight spots. Some parts do get frustrating regardless, and it seems like the only good way to beat it is to start memorizing attack patterns and enemy spawns, I imagine this is only more true on Realistic.

I found RB6 hard at first, but after practicing online & learning about weapons & gadgets & stuff, I'm blowing through it's single player on hard, much faster then I made it through the game on normal...

play it on realistic.. you will die a lot, but it's so addictive that you won't mind.. cause you'll find out what to do pretty soon. it's just hard to get it done... It;s harder than Geras on hardcore but easier than Geras on Insane..... normal and easy i don't know.. never played those. AMAZING game. best tacticall shooter out there imo the demo on xbox live is a stage pretty late in the game. by the way

Same here... slowly getting more used to it. I'm liking it though... it's a solid game.

I bought the game before I got a 360... I'm hoping it's like Rogue Spear. I played the life out of that game :) I love slow careful shooters... where you have to be careful of your every move and make sure your shots count. Vegas is like this too, no?

I also found it difficult and boring at first.  The 'one shot and your dead' thing never really appealed to me.  It would be fine if you could save anywhere, but it has a checkpoint system.  But the badguys are always in the same spot, so it has a trial & error imposed on you.  It stops getting Hard and just becomes Annoying after a while.

That being said, once you get over the hump, its very good though.

yep, VERY carefull. make sure you start with "realsitic mode" right away.. even with being carefull you'll die many times... The game is really top top quality. The bad guys are in the same spot when you start the level but will move in different directions evry time you start the level.. so they are NOT always on the same spot when you are in the middle of a level.

Nice, thanks for the responses.  I may consider getting this game, depending on the outcome of the co-op for crackdown (if it were offline co-op I would DEFINATELY get it >

yes, IT DOES have offline co-op. Split screen for mission mode or terrist hunt.  The only problem I have with it is that it splits your screen vertically.
