as far as XBL, it really doesn't bother me....I don't mind, although I know A LOT of people do...personally, I kind of like it, keeps thigns fresh
as far as in game, I think it depends on what's going on....for example, if your playing a racing game, its suppose to feature a ton of in game advertising because thats what tracks are like in real life......however, I think it can be taken overboard, for example something like Guitar Hero 3.
I'm still waiting for the day games have commercials in them, and that is the day I will barf.
A) If it helps fund the project and make it a better game.
B) If it is subtle and looks like something you would expect to see in a game, for instance billboards in cities/sides of race tracks.
C) If it doesn't get in the way of playing whatsoever and is generally not annoying.
If it goes by all these then It's ok.
i thought a lot of people were against in game advertising...why does everyone seem to hate EA...what about fight night round 3 and burger king advertising in that game...
does anyone not like advertising?....what are some of the negative views?

I personally liked how the King was used in that game... ads only bother me when they are in the way...if some game designer decided to place an ad in the way of my view of a game, or if i'm forced to see an ad, then it would upset me.
[QUOTE="Hulkness"]I never notice it what games have advertising do Gears, Halo 3, CoD4, or nBA2k8 have it because I havent noticed it.a55a55inx
NBA 2k8 does... I believe Sprite is in there...
Now that you mention it yes NBA does have sprite I never really notice though it doesent make me go out and get a sprite soda.
It never bothers me. If they made the ads load, thought, then i'd be pretty upset but sometimes the ads are informative.
