Hey there,

Im new to the forums, and its probably such a cliche that a new guy has a first post adressing a problem he has lol.

The problem is that I have is that I suspect some input lag on my not so old Samsung LE32B530, using an Xbox 360 on 720p, although the tv has a native res of 1080p. Full that is. Now, to the funny and weird part of my problem which kills me, as Iam the kind of person who notices every little difference in everything. I was connecting the 360 with the component cables until yesterday, where I decided to switch to HDMI. Now, when I used the component cables, I didnt notice any lag, HOWEVER, now using HDMI, I notice a difference of up to half a second or maybe even nearly a second. I then switched back to component to expirement, being sure it will be gone, but it WAS THE SAME! Although I have never noticed this before, hmm, weird im telling you. Even connected VGA, still the same. Now I wonder why this is, and I have done a lot of research, but thought it would be interesting to hear what you guys have to say.

Greetings.

K.

well i dont think it would matter how you were connected that just affects the quality of the image your getting. The input lag generally comes for the TV itself from what ive heard im no expert though. Does your tv have a gaming mode? Enabling that might help with your problem.

Yh blaming it on the cable is absolutely crazy. Although I have to admit I automatically had that view on first thought, as I didnt notice it before as said. So you do think I just didnt notice it before and gotta get used to it again or am I getting crazy or what lol. And yes my TV does have a game mode, doesnt make much of a difference though and that at the price of decreasing image quality a lot.

yeah if the game mode didnt help then it might just be your TV but i mean i dont think ive heard of TVs these days getting half a second lag. you should do some research to see if others are having the same problem.

It could if there is some sort of delay in the circuitry, such as a bad relay or solenoid

i have indeed done a lot of research, actually im doing it right now as we speak. a lot of people seem to be having this problem, even on youtube there are a lot of people demonstrating this. the samsung models seem the worst, and their game mode sucks ass. im not the only one having bad luck with that as it seems. the only thing that keeps me going to find out whats wrong is that i think i didnt have it before until yesterday, and if i did ... how come i only started noticing it now ..

Never play games with a "game mode" or any other kind of mode

When playing games you're supposed to turn off all the enhancers because all they do is create lag

yea, exactly, only thing is, who wants to sacrifice imaqe quality .. just my opinion ... and to be honest, if I do that, it doesnt show a single or slightest change.
