They prevented dirtbags from stealing the games

They were aware of the problems that could come if they weren't protected

you really need to research before you post after you install it you need the disk to verify that you own the game

you should read up on features before anything else.. you still need the disc in the 360 in order to play the game

Have you been living under a rock since NXE was released? There were probably like 13 threads asking the same question in the first 2 hours.

What can now happen is.

someone can make a firmware hack for the dvdrom drive that tells the console the disc is in when it isnt. maybe there will need to be some sort of programmer attached permanently to edit the name of the game disc.

no, because the 360 requires the CD to be in the drive to play it on the hard drive. its alright i don't see a difference but the system is quit quite.

I'm pretty sure there are people that have been doing this for quite a while now. Mod chips are everywhere.

In regards to the initial post, that's the very first thing I tried after installing The Orange Box.

rexxpro

I imagine people who hacked the console can already play games without having the disc.

No kidding? Well, that's good news then.

On an unrelated note, when I first read this game, I thought it was some joke involving Doom, like the game Doom, due to the thread creator's unusual capitalization choices in the title.
