Using the intercooler will void your warranty. It sucks power from the 360, and will leave burn marks buy the power brick connection. So if you ever send it in to microsoft for repair they won't touch it.Â

The air being blown out of the 360 should be fairly warm, If the air is acutally so hot it discomforts your hand you might wanna consider placing your 360 in a new spot.Â
Of course putting it on a carpeted floor or something like that is not wise since the carpet traps heat. If you have it on a nice hard surface try and space it from other objects.Â
be careful about how much air you put on it. the more airflow you put across the greater the chance of static electricity. static electricity will fry your precious 360. the walgreens fan idea could be disasterous. remember your skin temperature is around 82 degrees f.
if you place your 360 vertical it will less heat, i learned that from my router, my router i just set it up verticle and have something hold it up cuz if you have it flat down on the ground, the heat that's in the bottom can't go through the bottom, it can go only the top, but if vertical then the heat can go both ways, idk hard to explain
Do not use the intercooler. It sucks power from the xbox and can damage it. It doesnt really cool down the xbox that much anyways. Just keep your xbox in a spot where it is well vented and it should be fine. I am also pretty sure that it can also void your warranty if you have one.
Yes don't get the intercooler. My friend bought one and the heat from the fan melted the plastic hinges that connected the cooler to the 360. Now his 360 permanently has the cooler in the back of it. I keep my 360 on top of my dvd player which is right next to the window so it gets plenty of fresh air and never overheats:D
NO! don't buy the intercooler it draws power from your console which is not good. Instead try this, i found it at K-mart of all places! "Cooling Station" From Intec. its a verticle stand with built in very qite fans that sucks air out from the bottom of the console, then shoots it out from the sides. It has its own AC power cord to plug into an outlet and draws power from there(Not your 360) Cmplete with an On/Off switch. Also, theres four slots built into the stand to hold memory cards... I bought it for 20 bucks and it was the best purchase I have ever made for my 360. It never overheat now. In addtion, it has a life time warranty so there is no going wrong.

Avoid the intercooler! I have heard HORRIBLE stories!! I can't even think about it, oh the horror of it all!!!:lol:
But seriously, don't but the intercooler just put a fan behind it. That's what I do.

I'll tell ya, the Intercooler killed my 360, avoid it at all costs. When the 360 starts up, it requires a lot of juice to get going, the power that the intercooler leaches from the 360 is enough to damage your console, I learned this first hand.
Technically, I don't see how MS would even know if you had the intercooler on there anyway. Even if it burns the back of the 360 and the power port, you could just say "ya, the thing just fried". However, you should still avoid the intercooler and definitely avoid the cooling stand that someone else mentioned. The intercooler was effective on my 360 because instead of games coming out of the console hot they were cool, but I still took it off there because I was too nervous to use it once I heard it leeches power. The cooling stand was an absolute joke... it did absolutely nothing and the LED's on the one I bought were burnt out LOL. I took it back the next day. Just avoid all cooling solutions, just a waste of money.
