hey i need to buy a wirless modem but what is the difference between N routers and G routers?

Wireless N has a higher data rate and more range. But in order to take advantage of that you need a wireless N adapter. Wireless N routers work with the Xbox 360 adapter though and any g/b adapter. I would just get a G if I were you.

its just a slightly different techonlogy used...however none of this matters if you're not using a wireless connection...and i'm not even sure there are wireless n adapters that work with the 360...i have no problems with my g however, always green connections

Wireless N is still in the draft stages (the complete standard won't be out till Sept 08) .. yes, there are 'N routers' at the moment, however, they have many limitations... I would pick up a G for now.
