okay thnx.cause im going to buy a wireless adapter that runs at 10mbpsTR3boiithats the speed or your network connection internally, not your internet speed.

I have @ 10 Mbps and I actually get a little over 1 MB per sec on downloads from good servers :) I only pay $30 a month from my ISP and I'm positive they have me on a faster speed then I'm supposed to be hehe. As an Internet user from the 56k era seeing a file download in 1 minute in what used to take overnight never gets old. But yeah even with this fast connection I always have connection probs with gears of war so even if you have a super fast connection it may not work perfectly.

Joke topic?Eric_Drav3n
Lol, this topic is full of fail. Anyways, my Internet Connection speed is 7 MB/S and it is way better than what Xbox Live requires. :)
okay thnx.cause im going to buy a wireless adapter that runs at 10mbpsTR3boiithat doesn't mean your internet is 10 mbps just because your adapters are that fast.

Your mbps is not that important as long as it's some form of broadband. What is important is your connection time (commonly known as your PING) this is what will give you lag free online. If you want to know how to test your ping just google it. There is tons of info out there

Almost sounds like you're bragging. lol "Is my T3 enough to run XBL?". :P I have a 6mb connection and that's plenty. My friend just got a 12mb line and I told him that's overkill.EnderSR388it wont be T3 though, coz most broad band providers unless you get a leased line instead of regular broadband jack you on the upload speed. so usuaully your 10mb speed only applies to the download, and you probally only get marginally more upload speed than someone on a 4mb connection on the same provider unless they one of the rare companies that will give you really good upload speeds. beast having 10mb plus though, if u have stuff downloading that can offer speeds in excess of ur connection you get more than 1 megabyte down per second. can download even the biggest demos off live in 10-15 mins tops
okay thnx.cause im going to buy a wireless adapter that runs at 10mbpsTR3boiithats not broadband speed , i just noticed this reply of yours. and for a wireless adpater that speed is junk. 54 megabits is the usual spec at least. its your broadband speed from the intner provider which is the speed were all banging on about which effects the latency and bandwidth used to avoid lag. at moment any advice so far without knowing ur isp speed means the advice offered so far wont help. be advised if your using a pc to share the broad band with the wireless stick then if the bridge isnt setup 100% properly no matter what the isp speed is you may lag right out. and if you buying it to plug in ur xbox be warned most wont work at all , you need and offical xbox wireless adapater from either a original xbox or the 360 adapater and they are expensive.
that's what i just upgraded to, i was playing on 2mb, and it worked fine then, i just upgraded for.... well no reason actually, just cause i could :Pmaccer101well its better if you intend to host games, when i was on 2mb some games i had to limit the no of players or id get red dots loads like original vegas, but its best if u download stuff. i download wwe raw every week and its like 800mb off the site i get it off and it takes not longer than 10 mins tops. and the download speed bottles out at around 1.2mb per second.

I don't think you can even get a T3 residentially.
the download speeds aren't nearly as important when thinking of connection speeds for online gaming...it's upload speeds that you have to watch. Pretty much any service other then 56k's download speed is sufficient....it's up load speeds that will get yeah!

Lol at your comment :P I have a 100mbps broadband :) lol at you he has a point, although you do need sufficent download and upload speed for your broadband, having loads extra mbps dont help. sure if u have a poor connection like a 200k broadband then it would lag out. but the other factor is the latency of the connection. you could have a 50000000mb connection but if the latentcy was slow you would have a bad ping. which means although when you download stuff it comes down fast when it gets going it means its slow to respond to any requests. you might notice a slow latency using the net for websites and download but in games it can lag you out. even if your connection is a top max speed like you say your is. if the ping/latency is poor then it takes too long to kick into gear so when u play games the reaction time between the xbox and the server is poor even if u have more than enough bandwidth for gaming once you are past a certain bandwidth level of a few mbs then the extra wont help, but a good ping / latency does matter. its more critical than the bandwidth in most casesPlease Log In to post.
