And still even with that 2000-2010 was better than the 90's sorry for all the nostalgia peeps out there but it can only carry a game so far.

With mass effect 3 coming out not many i would say that in 20 years i would still play the series though because it is one of my favorites of all time. And if you dont think that this years games are the best ever then you most likely have a reason why meaning you have a year in mind that was the best so i wouldnt call it irrelevant really its just you dont think it is the best but can't put your finger on a year that you thought was the best.

Not only that but i never said that this years games were the best ever i simply gave a list of games on the way or out already and asked if it is the best and if not why. I can say for sure though that 2000-2010 was better than the 90s. I dont own a system from the 90s anymore nor do i plan on owning them every again all it is is nostalgia and you will get bored with it and move on to the games of this gen which are BETTER.

I don't think there is really such a thing as a "best" year in gaming. All my favorite video games came out different years and all years have made amazing accomplishments. Also every year has had totally sucky games.

I don't see where as I am not relaxed... Man. I'm pointing out that it is ignorant for anyone to claim this year has the best releases when very few people including the TC remember other year's releases. Last time I checked that was the definition of ignorance. If you make an opinion based on lack of knowlege, that in fact is ignorance. I am not sure what playing Dante's Inferno has to do with anything but whatever, you guys can believe whatever you want. I do not see the point in going through Wiki pages to find the best year in gaming history since even if it were to be 1987 it would still be a matter of opinion, and the TC will just continue to contradict himself further by such ideas as claiming that old games suck compared to new games but he will be playing Mass Effect 2 or 3 in 20 years, unable to comrehend that his new games will at some point become old games. Even if I were to do that, prior game release dates are about the most useless information that anyone could research, so once again I am off to find something a lot more fun to do.billyd5301

There are a lot of good games that come out every year, but there are few that can still be enjoyed much later on. Games like the original Mario games are still fun, even if they do have 8 bit graphics. As a matter of fact, I tried some DS games with 3d engines that allowed movement in all directions and I was disappointed. The games were fun and had a Mario feel to them but nothing beats the original.

Also, we can't forget games like Starcraft and Counter Strike, which were released so long ago but still played for years to come.

Second of all, why are getting offended? Did you see me specifying a particular GS user? Third, why are ignoring other people's opinions?

Now back to the point:

I am not playing the old games anymore, but only new games. I have played all the games that are in your signature. My point comes from the fact that, you are probably too young to have played older games back when NES and SNES and Genesis were big and not every other spoilt child had a game console. We used to gather with friends, who had the game and play games, which, at the time were so memorable and exciting. So the most enjoyment and memories come from the old times, when you are getting into the different genres and you were in awe of the game in front of you...

I guess it is hard to understand what i mean if you have not experience it for yourself.

Lastly, saying that one year is the best in gaming, is ignorant on its own. You should have given a broad range like a decade or something. Your favorite game might have come out in 2007, but what about your second favorite game? Maybe it came out in 2002. You get my point. Do not take this as an offence but as a constructive criticism. Heck, i would be glad to get criticized and then improve. If you do not do this, people are being ignorant so we are back to square one....

Well, to be honest i am not big on Japanese games. Back in the day, J-games were the majority though, so i did not have much choice.Now, if you ask me which one i would rather play:Chrono Trigger or Fallout 3 my answer is : Fallout 3

On another note, i want to say that ,my top three favorite games were all made in 2000-2010, with the second and third-placed ones were made in 2009 and 2010. Despite this fact, i still acknowledged that the best years of gaming ware in the 90s.

Have taken things that genre's in the 1990's-2000 and did stuff with them that was never possible before. This is very true. But the reason is that the technology advanced, so there was greater opportunity for better games. Logically speaking, in five years we might be actually physically "playing" the games, or playing within a virtual reallity or what not. Future is unpredictable, so in the next 5 years we might be virtually running from Necromorphs rather than watching it on TV...I think, as techniology advances, the only games that are going to be remembered as the best, are the ones that laid the foundations for all that newly designed gaming world to happen. And those games were made in the last century...
