BestBuy.ca currently has the 20GB Xbox360 as a door crasher item for $199.99. This deal is almost too good for me to pass up as I was already thinking about a 360 for this christmas so I could play Fable2 and Gears2.

Just wondering if the older 20GB models have a better chance at malfuntioning on me? If so I might wait to get one but if not then I'll probably pick one up today before the sale ends.

I've read that the newer 60GB models run cooler and quieter then the 20GB older versions. Can anyone confirm this? IS this true?

The newer versions are supposedly less likely to RROD...but like said above, the Hard Drive has nothing to do with anything...you can buy an arcade then put a 60GB Hard Drive on it if you want...the way it sounds/plays/or the likeliness of it dying out has nothing to do with the hard drive.

Yes, the new 60gb models use the falcon chip which has a 23% less chance of rroding.

It might, I have friends who bought the elite and tehy never had any problems. I bought my 20g back when vegas 1 came out, and I've had to send it to Microsoft twice. It's not too bad, they say 3-4 weeks, but I always get it back in 2 and they give you a free xbl 1 -3 month card. The real problem is teh lack of storage, if you buy dlc, arcade games, videos, or themes, you'll be deleting old files to make room. Especially if you're going to buy rock band 2 and get the 20 free tracks.

I have had my 20GB 360 for a year with no problems yet. The hard drive is plenty large, unless you plan on downloading tons of games and movies. I dont use the movie service. Although I have downloaded some music videos. My hard drive is mostly full of demos, which I delete after I decide whether or not to buy the game.

As long as you get a Falcon model there is no difference between the elite and the pro. Check the serial number on the window on the side of the box. Off the top of my head I cannot remember what teams the Falcons come from, but a google search will tell you what to look for.

The original hardware revision should be avoided like the plague however.

I bought one June of 2007 and it hasn't given me trouble yet. It's the 'Core'(arcade now) model. I have a 20 gig HDD with it, no problems
