Is a 360 worth buying now?

Is it worth it for me to buy an Xbox 360 now for $300? I have not owned a 360 before. And why? thanks

well i heard rumors of possibly a new console in 2010. but i dont know if its true. and really a price cut? that would be awesome

You aint gonna see any new consoles until 2012

well, if u dont mind having your system break on u 5 times a year and paying for online then go ahead, i had 4 360s break on me before i made the switch to ps3, it comes out more worth it for me since i love metal gear solid 4, free online, great exclusives, a nice hard drive... i liked the 360 too but not as much as the ps3, im glad i made the switch, but hey its up to u mancrazyyy-boyyyy

I currently own both systems and can honestly say I couldn't be more happier having them both!!! They both have their pros and cons but this isn' the time and place for that. Anyway, to the TC "yes" the 360 is worth buying, it has awsome exclusives,great online services and downloable content that's great also. Do some research, they have some great deals going on right now.

Ok.you guys are doing great so far.now one more question. would this make any sense to do? ill buy an arcade xbox 360, live, and like a 20 gb hard drive (for like $30 on eBay). ill save some money that way. But i know a kid who tried to tell me that the pro console runs quieter and nicer than the arcade. is that true?

If you own a PS3 and have the money go ahead. I enjoy having both systems, but honestly I havent bought a new release game on my 360 all year b'cuz there hasn't been anything worth buying that I can't get on my 3. No bias just the plain truth. I buy used older titles for my kids but honestly that has been it. If you don't have a PS3 I would recommend buying the PS3 first. It has better exclusives. Outside of Halo (which sucks anyway), Gears of War series, Star Ocean, and maybe a couple others there hasn't been much to write home about as far as exclusives go. The other good exclusives such as Crackdown and Mass Effect don't even look that great anymore compared to some of the newer realeases on the 360 and PS3 but they are worth playing. Bottom line you buy a system to play games, and PS3 currently has a better exclusive lineup. Like I said and I stress if you don't own either system take your hard earned money and get the PS3. If you own a PS3 and you got the money then yes get the 360. To be even more specific. In 2009 if you have to choose between the two you get the PS3. Having both is way funner IMHO. But in 2009 you choose the PS3 over the 360. 2 years ago yes you get the 360!!! Today No!!! Period. Own them both though eventually. If not now at some point. Nothing better than variety. So to answer your original question. Right now it isn't worth buying. Wait on some of the newer exclusives to come out. The only reason I bought the 360 was for my kids. So since I got it I figured I'd go back and play the older stuff I missed out on. There are some great and good games but nothing worth going out and spending 300 plus on. Not right now.

it is worth it and don't listen to the RROD nonsense. I got a Jasper Model which works perfectly and never had a single problem with it.

Plus there are some interesting upcoming games, 360 and pc/360 exclusives;

Halo 3: ODST
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Venetica
Magna Carta 2
Left 4 Dead 2

Lips: Number One Hits ( lol okay not a big exclusive )

then you can't miss out the 2010's big titles like Mass Effect 2, Halo Reach, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2 and maybe Fable 3.

Oh how could I forget about "Joy Ride" ( coming Q4 2009 )? :D who wouldn't wannaget his own avatar in the driver's seat and interact with the other people online whle rocking the track? ^^

Anyway, right now you could count on 31 only 360 exclusives and a lot of nice multiplats, which 90% of the times look better than the ps3 version.

So yeah, 360 is definitely the best hd console for now and I don't think Ms is gonna disappoint its costumes. just go for it.

i got a 360 for $399 at launch years ago and i love it. don't let people fool you with all their ps3 non-sense. the 360 has better games. i was just playing gears of war 2 today and i love it. the 360 is not going away. we got forza 3 and halo odst coming out. you need a 60 gb hard drive though. it's much better with a hard drive. good luck!

yeah, theres a lot of good games out for it and both ps3 and xbox have said that there next gen system will be coming out 2015. You will have lots of time to spend with it.

If you don't own a system then yes. If you own a "Wii" buy a real next gen game system... But if you own a PS3 or a Gaming PC, then no...YoungSinatra25
