Is a HDD really needed?

Can't I just use 512MB memory card? unless I DL stuff from the market place, why would I need a HDD?

Can I DL added content with a memory card?

you need a hard drive to download games and content. you cant just use the mem card

The only thing you can really do with a memory card is save games. I recommend getting a hdd.

You really don't need one but it would help. With a 512 MB memory card you could store your Gamertag, quite a few game saves and smaller DLC (like Rockband and Guitar Hero songs). For larger DLC (maps, levels), movies and demos you'd need an HDD.

You can't even download most game demos to a 512 mem card. Get off your wallet and buy one. Now do you see how useless the Arcade system is?

If all you want to do is use it to save your games then no, the HDD is not needed.

You also need the HDD if you want to play Original Xbox discs. Just look around a find one cheap.........I just won a brand new 20GB from Ebay for $35, shipping included!
