yes but, be careful when buying any old cable, check reviews on them - there are many many hdmi cables out there that have horrible quality and problems like ghosting, artifacting, or not working at all.

one more thing, im not sure about this buit on the picture of MS 360 hdmi cable theres a second part to it which seems like the connector for audio. Is that necessary? Cause if it is you do need the microsoft one.Mikee3

That was probably an HDMI converter, which isn't true HD (won't give you 1080p) a real HDMI cord has sound higher quality sound then component (which is its real advantage).

No, He's talking about the audio dongle that come with the official Xbox 360 HDMI kit, it is necessary if you need optical audio out or regular RCA audio out to your stereo.

can you use an HDMI cable on any 360? i bought mine last year and was told only the new generation 360's are HDMI compatable.HGRBLND

As long as your 360 has a HDMI output you can buy any HDMI cable. Early 360's didn't have HDMI at all.
