I'm on vacation from work from the 28th of April until May 6th and my friends, family and coworkers all can't believe I'm taking a vacation to play a videogame. It's a good thing I'm out of high school cause school vacation is this week and it would have been awful if vacation was the week before GTA came out.
I put my 2 weeks in at my job 2 weeks ago lol.. Not because of GTA but because the people i worked with were/are dicks.. Anyways, it works out for me i guess, cuz now i got a bunch of time to play GTA4 until i find a new job haha
I'm working this weekend, and taking tues, and wed, off, I guess thats kinda like taking time for the game, but I am not actually using vacation/sick time for the game, I'm just putting in the hours on other days. I don't blame you for doing that though, I took a week off when Halo 2 came out.
Haha. I remember when the Burning Crusade came out for World of Warcraft. There were people in my guild who actually quit their jobs to play it. If a game can make you quit your job; or is even part of the reason you definitely have your priorities wrong. Have fun though!
Blah. I won't take any days off for GTAIV, but that's not too bad compared to quiting. As long as the HR woman continues to do her thing, I don't mind going to work.
Taking the whole week off? Damn that is hardcore. My regular days off are Tuesday and Weds. And I get out of work just in time Monday night to get to my local midnight release. See how things are going but I may be calling out sick on this coming Thursday 2 full days may just not be enough.
no offense to anyone who does this, but what are you thinking? wasting benefit time for a game. Yea I am excited about it too, I will be getting mine the day it launches, and probably play it all night, But I am not taking days off for it. there are priorities to keep in line. gaming is second unless I become a game tester. :D have fun anyways should be a great game.
Well I wanted to but my girlfriend said no. Not that it matters though as I will have Mon.-Thur. off so I will have plenty of time to play then. Only thing that sucks is Fri.-Sun. are all 15 hour days...
I did take the day off for it - first part of the morning will be spent waiting for my local Gamestop to open as they are not having a midnight opening - so I'll be there for 9:30 to get my copy, hopefully home and playing before 10 AM as I only live about 3 miles away from the mall here.

I have 42 vacation hours and a floating holiday and on July 1st I can only carry over 40 hours and no floating holidays as it's my anniversary at my job and I'll be getting another 80 vacation hours and 3 more floating holidays.
